I'd say "winning" the "popular vote", but losing the actual votes in the actual swing states they actually needed to win the actual election is very much not "doing ok".
My point was more to say that, even though they suffered a loss, they've even done rather well since then. They took back the house in 2018. What do you define as "doing ok"?
Hell, the fact that the election was so close that losing on that basis was even possible puts the lie to the "doing ok" meme.
How so? The dems got more votes, just not where they needed them. If you're saying that in order for them to be "doing ok" they have to win every election then I guess we'll have to disagree.
