"Hope" isn't a strategy.
Agreed, but I'm Canadian. There is not much that I can do in this regard. If I was American, I would vote Democrat and volunteer time to a candidate.

Well, according to Trump all sorts of illegal immigrants are voting in the elections. So just sneak down south and cast a ballot! You can even do it multiple times if you wear a disguise!Agreed, but I'm Canadian. There is not much that I can do in this regard. It’s funny that obvious trolling still hits the mark.
Trump, being Trump, is bound to screw up between now and the general election. You may get an occasional drip of information regarding Ukraine. Maybe the supreme court will rule against Trump on his financial records, and they'll find various crimes there.- Trump's approval at highest point of his Presidency.Congratulations Republicans!
You are now the sole owner of the Trump Presidency - with all the risks and liabilities that entails.
- Half of registered voters say Trump deserves to be re-elected.*
I'm not sure what risks and liabilities they are taking on.

Nothing can go wrong with that plan.

49% approval for Trump is a little troubling. However, before we panic we'll have to wait and see whether it is sustained, or is just some sort of outlier/statistical anomaly.Gallup released some polls this morning. Gallup is generally considered non-partisan and generally well respected and trusted.
- Trump's job approval, while still crappy, is at this personal best, 49% (https://news.gallup.com/poll/284156/trump-job-approval-personal-best.aspx)
This amounts to the same thing I said: They don't care if they're wrong. I could say this of some liberals, too, and probably most people in the U.S. who consume only domestic news media.Mmm. I don't quite believe that. I suspect that it's much more likely for people like that to simply be too invested, emotionally, in their tribalism, for a number of reasons. For some, for example, because the right-wing media feeds them validation (and a decidedly skewed caricature of what "the left" is saying) that they're just not getting enough of elsewhere, which they then become a bit dependent upon.
Oh, I agree 100%. What I don't understand is the reaction to the trolling. "Don't feed the troll," is the usual mantra but the outrage machine simply can't help itself from feeding Trump exactly what he wants: attention. It's sad that the leader of a nation would wallow in the indignity and the muck and mire of trolling.
Like this. This can't be a real fear. People are so triggered by Trump's inanities (I mean, really -that video was just silliness) that they preoccupy themselves with these kinds of irrationalities. But then, it might be more than this; a testing of the waters, a sending up of a trial balloon. We know his method, where outrageous statements are often feeler gauges.
Trump being Trump, he probably already has.Trump, being Trump, is bound to screw up between now and the general election.
No, they won't have to explain. They will be shocked or deeply disturbed at the new, serious allegations. I don't know how this would play with their constituents, but explaining is probably riskier than just acting like there's nothing to explain. If anything bad happens, Republican senators will have to explain how they could have gotten rid of Trump but didn't.
So if the stock market significantly dropped, how would President Trump blame it on the Democrats. It can’t be the impeachment. It can’t be the legislation they passed.

That's being generous. Twice I've asked for an explanation of how what they said follows from my post. The thing is, it doesn't. It can't. It was just an excuse for calling me racist to white people. Standard dishonesty from Trump supporters. I'm shocked. This is my shocked face. You need to take in your reading comprehension for maintenance.
Okay. And that changes what?
"A majority is satisfied but wrong" is... still satisfied.
Yeah we all know we're gonna have to pay this check down the road, we're not stupid. The check just isn't going to come due before November and until then Trump can keep buying the table drinks.
This is becoming a huge problem in political discussions. When people tell you they are happy you can't go "No you're really not, look at these facts!" and expect that to work. That's not how it works anywhere, especially not in politics.

Or maybe Trump will call more neo-nazis "fine people". Or start a shooting war with Iran.

Or some other crisis no one can foreseewill arise and Trump will mishandle it bigtime.
