Aspergers isn't what they call it when adults feel the need to make up lies about teenagers to make themselves feel superior.

Probably couldn't comprehend Sagan's The Demon Haunted World. You know, the one where he talked about the coming environmental crisis based on real science, not comedy science fiction.

My wife says that Greta is extremely well spoken and intelligent.

I watched her speech here in Denver a few weeks ago. That is, I watched a livestream of it.

There were a bunch of other teenage speakers as well, and one adult. I think I watched about six of other other speakers overall.

And yes, Greta seemed to be the best public speaker of the bunch. She had notes on a single sheet of paper, but she didn't read from it, just glanced at it from time to time. The other speakers seemed to ramble on a bit and get off topic, or strain to find the right word here and there. One seemed to alternate from speaking to loud to then speaking too soft, and a couple couldn't seem to maintain the right distance from the microphone because they were nervous and could not stand still enough.

So I would say that for her age, she is a very good public speaker. Perhaps not as good as a professional singer or actor her age might be, but still pretty good.

Consumption is driven by demand, not supply

Not really. More and more consumption is driven by marketing. Nobody needed, or even wanted, black pearls until they were marketed properly. Nobody knew they needed, or wanted, to cruise to Alaska until it was marketed to them.

With people like Greta, they are marketing the environment which is counter to the interests of traditional consumer marketing. That's why people hate her.

Yes, climate scientists have weighed in. Basically we can drive, fly, and cruise as many miles as we wish if we get rid of the meat and dairy industries. You do realise that deforestation in the Amazon is for meat and dairy production, right?
