Turkey denies that, which of course it would, but I don't think it would be a good move for Turkey. Al Jazeera's coverage yesterday was presenting it as a real deal, quoting a Kurdish general confirming his troops were complying with the terms of the deal. At the same time Turkey denies the deal is a cease-fire because that would require a deal between Turkey and the Kurds.
Though I can see a million reason why this so-called cease-fire won't work, I'm not eager to see it fail and all Turkey has to do stop shooting for 100 hours (BTW I think that's the deal, not 5 days), then they've got carte blanche to carry on exactly as before. U.S. supposedly destroying "heavy equpment," which I assume means hindering the Kurds' ability to fight back if they don't leave in time.
Trump is still eyeing that Nobel Prize. He says millions of lives will be spared. If that turns out to be true, it will be a good thing.
