The Trump Presidency: Part 17

If that's how Trump usually tries to make deals and negociate, it's pathetic.

Anyone who thinks the man's a dealmaker ought to be disillusioned of the notion now.

You'd think that *somebody* in the GOP might think that such a thing might be an issue. Even if it isn't sending a copy of a confidential letter to a murderous despot (we've all done that in our time :o), but then allowing the admission of such to be leaked surely is beyond the pale.

I'm not yet convinced that trump was trying to secretly give Turkey some inside information. My first impression was that the letter sent to trump from the Kurdish officials was always meant to be seen by Erdogan to outline their intentions/conditions for talks.

Of course I believe trump would do something like that, I'm just not sure he has in this situation.

"Downing Street has denied that Boris Johnson asked Donald Trump to organise a meeting between the family of Harry Dunn and the wife of an American diplomat who has admitted she was driving on the wrong side of the road before the teenager died in a collision.

At a briefing on Wednesday, the US president said he had arranged the widely criticised meeting at the suggestion of the British prime minister."

Which doesn't surprise me in the least. Trump thought he'd pull off a PR coup, it backfired badly, so someone else has to carry the can.

Honestly it's hard to construct a better metaphor for the Trump administration than the fact that the United States is now bombing its own military bases.
Burning their own magazines - pretty much the defining act of a preciptate withdrawal. They really were given no notice at all. Words fail.

Get used to it, Boris, you lying POS. You're Trump's fag now.
Fagging was a traditional practice in British boarding private schools (nearly all "public schools" in the English sense) and also many other boarding schools, whereby younger pupils were required to act as personal servants to the most senior boys. While domestic servants were common in family households, the custom reflected household task distribution and taught pupils about service from both ends of the relationship very much reminiscent of the relationship between squire and knight in the Middle Ages.

Under school rules, fagging might entail harsh discipline and corporal punishment when those were standard practices. Fagging was sometimes associated with sexual abuse by those older boys.

To be fair, Johnson is enough of an idiotic sociopath to have thought it a good idea. I'd put this one down as "plausible". Especially since that doesn't actually exonerate Trump in any way, because all it really says is "I'm so braindead that I just do whatever other people tell me without having the mental capacity to assess for myself whether or not it's a good idea".

I wouldn't be surprised if that's fairly standard practice. Sounds like the sort of thing that many property/real estate figures would do, not just Trump.

Sure, and it's standard practice for burglars to break into people's homes.

Republicans are totally deprived of their rights in this Impeachment Witch Hunt. No lawyers, no questions, no transparency! The good news is that the Radical Left Dems have No Case. It is all based on their Fraud and Fabrication!

Trump seems to be confused about the difference between an investigation and a trial.

Odd, for a stable genius who knows more than all the lawyers..

I guess he'll find out when the trial actually comes.

I'm not positive on this, but I'm pretty sure that's Trump's email sig.

Interesting, since the U.S. has only been around for 243 years (if that), and Italy as a modern country not even nearly as long.

But it certainly feels like we've been around a lot longer. It's only been three years since 2016 and yet it feels to have been decades!
