The legacy of Trump will surely be more Oversight over the Executive and better Whistleblower protection laws.
Imagine, as is painfully obvious, the Donnie understands nothing about China and politics. They aren't going quid pro quo in public. They might've made this deal in private but likely would've traded the release of the Chinese executive with a full apology (which Trump and the Canucks will never give) for dirt on Biden. Watch the China Daily. If they announce an investigation into Chinese businesses who've signed with family members of visiting dignitaries but with no specifics.... Then you're seeing 3D chess.
CT:
>China pretends neutrality for home consumption and assures the US envoys that's what they're really doing, posing.
>China announces investigation into illegal concessions granted by Chinese companies/officials.
>Trump and Co. get hard nipples over the prospect of a sound byte condemning the Bidens.
>China asks for trade concessions which Mr. Negotiations doesn't grant.
>China releases records of all of Ivanka, Don Jr. and Eric's dubious deals, arrests the Chinese principals, and says, "There ya go! Be careful what you wish for, foreign devil."
So Crooked Hillary Clinton can delete and acid wash 33,000 emails AFTER getting a Subpoena from the United States Congress, but I can’t make one totally appropriate telephone call to the President of Ukraine? Witch Hunt!
The legacy of Trump will surely be more Oversight over the Executive and better Whistleblower protection laws.
Yes, but not very effectively.I didn't, but honestly, I don't care as much about the specifics as the effects, so I'm more in the camp of "I don't care about that." I think that there's little chance of the more right-wing among the Democrats allowing that to actually happen, either way, and it does make a much better position to compromise from than starting at the furthest that one is reasonably willing to compromise to.
Warren and Bernie have been, of course, and working to focus the conversation on things that actually matter, like total costs and how efficient and effective it is. As for too many of the rest... I still don't see what good purpose there is long-term or even short-term, for Democrats to adopt misleading Republican framing and talking points.
Don't you know how to enlarge the page? Or are you joking? It was fine until Agatha shrunk it!![]()
Please, please, please let these laws be named after Trump with some sort of backronym.
The Reporting of Unambiguous Malfeasance Procedures.

He does not have the ability to ignore it and
I want to see a China-Syndrome level meltdown.

BREAKING: The whistleblower is a registered Democrat & CIA analyst who was detailed before the 2016 election to the Obama White House, where he worked on the NSC's Ukraine desk & met w anti-Trump Ukrainian officials before being sent packing by the Trump NSC & becoming disgruntled
Sure he does, but if he wasn't drowning the fish it might continue to grow behind closed doors.Does Trump realize he’s the one who is keeping impeachment headlines going? He’s retweeting like mad and repeating the same things over and over with seemingly few new angles. Thanks, Trump!
I believe the IRS complaint was about Trump trying to influence his tax audit. There are apparently two more whistleblowers still in the shadows:
(1) Ukraine phone call, a person with more direct knowledge than whistleblower #1, cited by whistleblower #1.
(2) An IRS employee concerning...?
Did I say repeat Trump's phrases?I’d argue against using a phrase that Trump himself created!
I believe that unfortunately the Patriot Act gives DHS broad powers to waive (ie break) many laws if national security is at stake. I don’t even think he’s building his “wall” in areas that are particularly in need of increased physical barriers. Just maybe where it’s easiest.
Yes, but not very effectively.
Did I say repeat Trump's phrases?
No.
Ever ask yourself why the GOP is so successful at marketing their candidates?...
There's only so much that a person can do by themselves, after all... which gets to some of the more foundational problems with the current state of things.
Oh... That makes sense, maybe if you had worded it with sarcasm challenged SG in mind...I was just attempting a lame joke about Trump’s claim that he himself originated the phrase “prime the pump”. That was all.
The Trump Presidency outperformed the Obama Presidency. Trump is not perfect but he did not give in excess of 100 million dollars to Iran. How Obama was elected to two terms in office will mystify me till the day I die. I certainly never voted for him.
Trump wants Romney impeached!
