The Trump Presidency 15

Actually, telling black people who have families in the US going back centuries to "go back to Africa" is *exactly* the correct use of the term, particularly for a guy whose family moved to the US relatively recently. For that matter, white supremacists have been known to fling the term at Native Americans who are on tribal rolls. Hateful *and* ignorant is how they like to be.

Oh no, how shocking, Trump doesn't view brown people as americans if only he had shown this at some point before the election.

Oh wait he did, and this is just not a big deal for conservatives, they are the big tent party and certainly aren't going to make any effort to kick the racists out.

Isn't Trump only one generation away from immigrants himself?

His grandfather migrated to the US.
He forgot and thought it was his father in a recent statement.

But the "pulling the ladder up behind you" mentally is common in certain personality types.

This isn't a big deal because the Dems won't be mad about it in a few days, they'll have moved on to the next outrageous thing Trump did/said and this will be forgotten.

No 10 says Trump's 'go back home' tweet to congresswomen 'completely unacceptable'

More attacks on the UK incoming. A few barbs at the mayor of London will be thrown in for good measure to prove his lack of racism, no doubt.

I do think this tweet will be one of the top ten Trump soundbites, togetherness with "Good people on both sides".

Oh it's certainly going on his Greatest Hits album to be sure, but like everything outrageous Trump does it's in the news for a few days and then just gets shoved into the background and the immediate, visceral outrage just gets absorbed into the broader, background "seething hatred."

Trump has perfected the one man Gish Gallop.

I realise Trump has always been an outright racist since way back when, decades. But he has usually kept it to himself. As a businessman he knows it's not really good for business. So what I'm hearing are the dulcet tones and thoughts of SS-Ober-Gruppenfuhrer Miller, cross-eyed Nazi, race-baiter and White Supremacist, provoking him to tweet more openly.

It's easy to do. The Squad is getting more news popularity than Trump now. And ratings in the form of TV time are all that drive Trump these days. So by dropping a few broad hints or turning the discussion in that direction, get him worked up so he tweets something outrageous that will get the spotlight back on him.

Trump, of course, doesn't give a stuff any more about the politics of what falls out of his pie-hole. Who knows if he means anything he says or not. He sure doesn't. But this was a calculated political provocation, something he isn't good at arranging. It is an attempt to turn attention from the ICE raids by generating faux outrage with highly provocative language. Trump is too stupid and disconnected these days to consider that...but Miller isn't. Miller would be well aware of the consequences, and has Trump's ear.

Perhaps instead of yelling for Trump's impeachment which is pretty difficult, some of his advisers should be impeached. They might be easier targets and they are also more influential. Because it isn't just the president who can be impeached, it's any administrative official.

Did you just call Trump a businessman?

Did you just call Trump a businessman?

To be fair he didn't call him a good one.

But in semi-seriousness a high stakes, deal making, always in control businessman is a key part of Trump's self image.

As with everything about Trump how close to reality that it is a far different question.

Quibble - I disagree with "correct." "Normal" would be more accurate.

In more problematic news...

Police: 69-year-old man dies after attacking migrant jail
.

Looks like the guy tried to commit suicide and burn down the place all in one move? Also, there's a claim that the guy was an anarchist, so, if true, it would be one of the actual extreme leftists in the country and potentially one of the rare left-wing associated terrorist attacks.
Anarchists aren't left or right wing.

Dear Gawd, he's an *******.

To the Trump supporters on this forum: How can you continue justifying this stuff? Why do you hate America? Because Trump is the antithesis of everything this great country stands for.

They clearly hold different standards of what makes america great. Hence why they want him to make it great again. This is just part of that greatness they see us having lost.

And remember pointing out the racism is the most bigoted act one can possibly do.

'Funny' how you never saw an ad taken out by Trump to execute any white rapist/murderers. In his mind, they're probably all people of color. I mean, white people just wouldn't do that kind of thing, right?

He also saw no reason convicted black rapists should be released just because they were really innocent.

Me for the past 3 years, trying to be fair and rational:

"I don't think Trump is a fullblown racist, he's just an a-hole that has no mouth filter. He's not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer, you know what I mean?"

..... Looks like I owe my neighbour and a few friends an apology (and a beer or two or five) for underestimating the degree of true deep-seeded racism swirling around inside this ballbag scuzzhole's empty cavity between his ears.

There's just no denying it anymore. And the entire world now knows it too.

This is really truly shocking, I didn't think his actions could possibly change anyone's view of him with something as minor and fitting with his past as this.

No.
And we've never had a major political party so hostile to common decency, either.

Hey there haven't been any serious assaults on the floor of congress so that isn't at the level it was in the late 1850's. So we would seem to have a while to go by that standard before full blown civil war.
