Unless Trump says something like black people should be killed his voters won't care how much of a bigoted racist he acts like. And even then it's highly questionable whether they would actually disagree with him or not.

Either that, or something really big (yuge, even) and bad is coming down the pipeline, and he's got wind of it. What could it be? I have no idea. There have been at least twelve instances he was involved in where I said, "Oh, this has got to be it for him this time!"

I’ve met a couple who might defend him by saying, “he didn’t say all of them. He obviously meant just kill the ones that deserve to be killed.”

And a few would go with the perennial “he was joking.”

Just when you think he's turned it up to eleven and maxed out, he then turns it up to twelve.
 
How Trump ended up doing this is easy enough to see. The stupid racism is he is expressing is not getting worse. But his dementia is getting more obvious by the day.

I wonder if there is already a plan to invoke the 25th amendment before things get to far so they can run Pence in 2020.

Could be. But it's also possible that after no consequences, he is less and less inhibited about showing his true colors.

If it gets worse (although it's already "worse") I don't think his Administration will be able to keep him out of the public eye like Reagan's did during his last several months.

Around half the Trump supporters here would agree with him. The others would find some excuse to support him anyway.

Then again, we haven't heard from any of them since this broke. We've got some fairly reasonable and articulate conservatives here, where are they?
 
Trumps is seeing how much racism he can get away with because once you realize something tweaks whoever you're trying to tweak "How much can I get away with" is one of the core, defining attributes of a troll

The Left hates racism so Trump is going to figure out how racist he can be without basically signing a notarized "Officially Racist" form.

I disagree with your hypothesis. You are suggesting that he will try more and more until he says, “that reaction is too much, I will take one step back.” President Trump does not believe that he is capable of too much of anything. He believes he is perfect in every way. If the world does not react well to one of his messages, the problem is with the world, not with him, because he is a genius with genius insights.
