Well, of course he is! Laffer blamed the 2008 recession on Obama:

Just had a great conversation with @realDonaldTrump. We talked about our good public schools in WV and how he totally supports my plan for WV public schools. The President and I are bound at the hip, and he has done remarkable work that has been tremendously beneficial for WV!

When I was going to public school there they were teaching us about logarithms and using the lessons to show us how to build our own slide rules ... in sixth grade. The other years were comparable. (You could take Latin as an elective in eighth grade.)

Apparently they've lost a lot of ground.

I have reached the point where I almost literally can't even imagine what that would be.

Embracing black, Latinx, and/or LGBT people. And making it a serious effort, like mandating that doctors and businesses cannot discriminate against the transgendered community, or taking firm steps against police brutality.

Seems obvious to me.

A wee while back, I was inclined to agree with you, and said the Dems needed to occupy the centre before pushing left.

A little time has changed my mind - especially given the centre now being far right of where it was - and I think the only way forward worth pursuing is left of centre.

Four years of a fascist might be countered by eight years of social democracy in a way that time chasing the centre won't be.

In a world shifting right, maybe the best answer is to kick it left.
