Avenatti out on bond. Countdown until he starts making very public statements deleterious to his case starts now.

Actually, I'm not sure it's that at all. Lawyers threaten people all the time with stuff like this. I'm not an attorney and admittedly, I don't understand the nuance between legal extortion and illegal extortion. For years I've seen attorneys do this stuff and wondered why they aren't charged with extortion.

Which reminds me. What happened to David Pecker and the the National Enquirer after their attempt to extort Bezos?

Is Pecker and Avenatti going to share jail cells? Or do we have two sets of laws? One for POTUS's friends and another for his enemies?

Do they threaten multi-billion dollar multinationals like this? Do they then repeat what they're demanding when they're obviously being taped and asked to repeat the illegal stuff they've already demanded?

Well, you just had the attorneys for the National Enquirer threatening the richest man on the planet. Don't get me wrong. I think they are BOTH WRONG and should go to prison for it.

Over seven and a half billion people in the world (as of 2017).

If you think he's "the worst" or even in the running then either you need to get out more or you aren't looking very hard.

Pick any fifty Southern Baptist preachers at random and I'd be surprised if you didn't find someone worse than him.

Probably several.

Oh dear, sorry to have criticized Michael Avenatti. The guy literally indicted at the same time in two federal district courts and forming the basis for R Kelly to build a defense

I think you just diminish the offenses of people who are really the worst. He's just a two-bit ambulance chaser who caught a bit of that Andy Warhol time. No different than hundreds of other sleaze.

Not odd at all: he's got no future as a Democrat. Democrats now know what he's charged with, but Republicans won't care as long as he's not a Democrat.
