I find it far more likely that he is utterly broke.
At her request
Avenatti has a video of R Kelly having sex with a 14-year-old and has passed it on to the Cook County States Attorney

Ah. I guess it'd make sense for anyone with such a tape to lawyer up, since they're likely to be one of the people that helped cover for R. Kelly's many crimes. And if Avenetti stays working at this level instead of pretending he'd be a good president, and gets this serial child rapist locked up for good, then I'll applaud him.
And that sums up the difference between many Democrats, and Republicans.
Wut.
Leave it to avenatti to release a press release about a child porn tape.

Through subpoenas to banks, Frank obtained records that detail millions of dollars in lawsuit settlement payments, legal fees and other funds that Avenatti collected during the bankruptcy but did not disclose to the trustee, the new court records show.
In one case, Eagan Avenatti was representing ticket holders who sued the National Football League in connection with seating snafus at the 2011 Super Bowl in Arlington, Texas.
After the case was closed, a Texas lawyer told Avenatti in a May 2017 email that he was ready to transfer $1.4 million to Eagan Avenatti, the court records show.
Avenatti responded with wiring instructions that split the money, with $409,000 directed to a firm account that was disclosed to the bankruptcy trustee and $953,000 to an undisclosed account controlled by Avenatti.
EA was counsel of record for Greg Barela in a lawsuit entitled Barela v. Brock USA, LLC, Case No. 8:15-cv-779 (“Barela”) filed in U.S District Court for the Central District of California in May 2015. (Frank Decl., ¶ 44, Ex. 41.) The lawsuit was compelled to arbitration before the Judicial Arbiter Group, Inc. in Colorado. (Id.) During the bankruptcy, on or about December 28, 2017, Avenatti opened another undisclosed “client trust account” at CNB (5566). (Frank Decl., ¶ 45, Ex. 30.) On January 5, 2018, this account received a wire of $1.6 million from Brock USA LLC. (Id., Ex. 42.) The wire states the payment was for the “Brock USA 2018 Settlement Payment”:

The day earlier, on January 4, 2018, Avenatti deposited into the same newly opened client trust account at CNB (5566) a check from the Judicial Arbiter Group to EAfor $11,718.75 – which according to memo line on the check was for “Barela v. Brock.” (Frank Decl., Ex. 44.
You know, I use your posts to this and similar topics as kind of a rough measure of how badly Trump is doing. Going rather well lately, innit?
I guess, did you read the post right below yours yet?
Avenatti should be in jail.
As such, I guess trump is kicking next level ass!

I have no doubt that Avenatti is an attention seeking whore,
I find it hilarious that TBD can't let go of his obsession with Avenatti. It's also amazing that he thinks Trump shouldn't be in jail but Avenatti should be. Oh well, objectivity is lost with this one.
I have no doubt that Avenatti is an attention seeking whore, but how is this different from Trump's behavior since 1985 or Dershowitz or Rudy Giuliani? I'm sure there are others.
Deleted the ironic personal attacks and the fallacious nonsense and the but Trump.

What personal attacks? Clearly there is an obsession and clearly you approach behavior with double standards. Don't you feel that standards should be universally applied?
I concede the point that Avenatti sending out a press release is a demonstration of him seeking attention. Who cares? Do you care that everyone from Kim Kardashian to Paris Hilton to Dershowitz to Donald Trump employ similar tactics throughout their careers?
You seem to believe that Avenatti belongs in jail when Trump has done far worse. I'll make a deal. Send them both to prison.
bu bubbububububbuubbubububub TRUMP!
The fetish for terrible ad hominem/tu quoque fallacies (and obsession with TBD) from the leftists around here is absolutely astonishing
Dershowitz doesn't pretend he can be president (plus he isn't getting sued by his business partners or filing high-profile losing cases that his clients don't even want).
Trump actually is president.
