I would like investigators to identify the point at which Trump swallowed Russian propaganda hook, line and sinker: when he started to distrust America and its allies and embraced the narrative of Putin about nationalism and mercantilism.

Trump Tweets

The rank and file of the FBI are great people who are disgusted with what they are learning about Lyin’ James Comey and the so-called “leaders” of the FBI. Twelve have been fired or forced to leave. They got caught spying on my campaign and then called it an investigation. Bad!

So...by the FBI's post-Trump standards for C.I. investigations, would this off-mike exchange between Obama & Putin's deputy (where Obama offers Putin "more flexibility" on NATO missile defense in Europe) be grounds for opening an espionage probe of Obama?

BREAKING: Inspector General Michael Horowitz still does NOT have all of Peter Strzok's and Lisa Page's texts, even though a third-party software vendor contracted to the FBI knows where all the missing data is saved

No one accused Obama of being a Russian agent after he asked for “more flexibility” until after the the election, or when Obama ignored Putin’s invasion into Crimea, or when Assad used chemical gas in Syria and Obama’s red line was crossed

RTs from Paul Sperry, Charlie Kirk, Tom Fitton....

Donnie's watching and reading nothing but arch-conservative whack-jobs.

I know you're not necessarily posting stuff you agree with, but just thought I'd point out:

Which of course we know is wrong. It may be arguable that maybe Obama wasn't tough enough, but he did implement sanctions as punishment. So no, he didn't ignore the invasion.

Yes, Obama said the use of chemical weapons was a 'red line', and he failed to react when Syria used poison gas anyways. But lets put things into context: There was a lack of support for a military response from both U.S. allies and from republican-held congress. So the republicans deserve at least some of the blame.

Obama could have ignored congress, and unilaterally launched a military strike without congressional approval, but then he'd have to deal with claims of him being "authoritarian dictator Obama".

Shouldn't that be "... he'd have to deal with even more claims of him being authoritarian dictator Obama" than Republicans were already spouting." ?

Apparently, Mueller wanted a follow-up (in person) interview with Trump, which was rejected by Trump's legal team.

From: https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/14/politics/trump-interview-mueller-request/index.html
President Donald Trump's legal team rebuffed special counsel Robert Mueller's request in recent weeks for an in-person session with Trump to ask follow-up questions. The request was made after Trump's team submitted written answers to a limited number of questions from Mueller's team focusing on before Trump was in office.

Why would Trump and his lawyers want to avoid questioning? After all, Trump is the most honest, intelligent president the U.S. has had, so I'm sure he'd be able to answer all their questions perfectly well. And with the government shutdown, its not like Trump is doing much in his free time (his trips to go golfing at Mar a Lago seem to have been curtailed.)

I doubt that Trump has ever thought deeply enough about anything to have a concept of "ideology", much less embrace one.

It's all about money. He saw what he believed were chances to make money and went for them.

His goal is money, and his pastime is revenge against those he feels have slighted him.

There is no room left in his mind (or whatever it is he has which passes for such a thing) for anything as complex as ideology.

Only expediency.

Fox legal analyst Gregg Jarrett just called for the FBI to be disbanded over reports that they are investigating Trump

"Frankly, it's time that it be halted in its tracks, reorganized and replaced"

Are you with Trump or are you with the FBI?
Are you with the rule of law or are you with Donald Trump?
Are you with judges, are you with everything we basically have built our country on or are you going to throw it all away for this guy."

It's almost sad that we all know the answer to those questions that people we know would give us. I have about 4-5 die hard Trump fans in my family. It's tough.

Yes, it's really bizarre. I'm amazed at how so many people seem to think tearing down and destroying this country and it's government is a good idea.

Sorry to hear about your family. I had family members that supported him, but have since come to the conclusion that he's a disaster. It took a while though. They thought he might really end up being a centrist and would push for things like rebuilding US infrastructure.

I've suspected for a long time that the right-wingers at Faux News are a bunch of crazed loons... this sort of thing rather confirms it - they want the President, to be immune to investigation and above the law... of course, this is only if he is a Republican president.

Mueller just needs to dress up as Putin and ask for a private meeting.

Trump would definitely sing like a tweety bird. But that would be entrapment, and Mueller is a straight shooter.

Sure, it can be argued that even asking Trump questions is a form of entrapment. That is certainly how Trump and his supporters see it. However, as JFK once reminded us, "Life is unfair." And mere unfairness is not entrapment.
