SCO's Van Grack: "With respect to treason, the government has no reason to believe that the defendant committed treason"

What the hell is going on over there? Is the judge intentionally ******* with the General and his family?

This is the craziest ******* thing I have ever heard.

Flynn's lawyer asks to delay the sentencing.

Good lord I hope it is until after the Judge gets his god damn meds checked.

So, lucky Flynn. His lawyers went from trying their hardest to **** things up for him by pretending that even though he'd pled guilty that he'd done nothing wrong and it was all the nasty FBI being unfair, to paying attention when the judge essentially said "None of that is true and if I were you, I'd ask to delay sentencing because if you don't then Flynn is almost certainly going to prison".

Heavens to Betsy! Poor, poor General Flynn! First the meanies trick him into lying. How is the good General to know that lying to the FBI is naughty? And now Judge Meanie says these mean things. Get me some popcorn strings of pearls, I'm feeling faint.

This indeed is the craziest ******* thing I have ever heard. Since the last time I visited this thread that is.

Judge just asked if Flynn committed treason...

"That was not something we were considering at the time, charging the defendant."

the judge has lost his damn mind...

I don't think so. The judge is spot on.

.
Flynn had two..no, three masters at least as National Security Advisor. It may not constitute the legal definition of treason, there is no question it was traitorous. If this had been under the Eisenhower or Kennedy administration, the people would be asking for his head.

Flynn is so lucky even if he is sentenced to the maximum sentence today.

“Thank you all, and happy holidays.” - Judge Sullivan/Mr. Hyde

I like how, despite being warned days ago by someone you like to cite as an authority on such matters, that the request for the 302s meant that the judge was angry with Flynn's team, you're still utterly blindsided that the judge was angry with Flynn's team. He's acting exactly as predicted by people with expertise in this area. That you managed to convince yourself of a fantasy that Mueller was going to be found in contempt of court isn't a failing of the judge, nor is it a failure of those who said differently. It means that you're not actually the crack-shot lawyer you think you are.

After the Judge completely lost his **** today, I gotta think that Trump is going to look long and hard at a pardon.

Did he commit... TREASON?? whomp whomp
<break>
Oh I did not mean to suggest that he committed treason, I was just, ya know, curious and stuff.

Again, you don't know what you're talking about. Flynn was working as a foreign agent before the election when you view what he was doing right up to the election and then immediately registering as a foreign agent immediately following being fired. That he wasn't during is a dog that won't hunt.

I think the term "legal beagle" is accurate, in that beagles make for pretty poor lawyers. If you want legal acumen, you really need to go with something from the terrier breeds.

Anywho, let's all enjoy this trip down memory lane:
My conspiracy theory? Oh dear, I am simply reporting on the facts regarding Judge Emmet G. Sullivan's "sua sponte" order asking to see the memo following the interview AND the 302's from August.

Do you think Judge Sullivan is interested in a conspiracy theory? Well then: make your case!

By the way, I predict that the government will ask to have those sealed AND Flynn's lawyers will go along AND that will not raise even the slightest bit of concern from the regressives.

Perhaps the more "skeptical" of our correspondents are curious why Judge Sullivan would sua sponte order this information disclosed to him? Well, you see folks, he has long experience with exposing miscarriages of justice. For examples:

Hmm, something to think about, huh folks?

He thanked the courageous judge who did not accept prosecutors’ representations that they had disclosed all evidence of innocence from the defense.

But you can rest assure that our correspondents will declare this a "conspiracy theory." because of course.
