Well there is this from TBD’s same quoted NY Times article:

Yeah a total apologist monster. We can otherise this one and let old Trumpy totally off the hook for acquiescence to a state murder operation.

But he's not even defending Trump. Because he can't. He can only go with attacks on Khashoggi. It's misdirection. I've been watching for a while and the so-called Trump defenders here are not defending Trump. Instead it's just batting away on the edges to discredit individuals like Kahshoggi, Avanetti etc. and countries like Turkey.

Their argument is that until the US is exactly like Saudi Arabia, North Korea, Venezuela and Nazi Germany, no one gets to criticize Trump.

Look, Trump didn't even know where the the heck he was when they plonked him down in front of a burning log in California which is still in the USA. West of New Jersey is "overseas" for Trump. He only knows Trump Tower, Mar-a-lago and golf course club houses, while he just pretends he lives at the White House.

So to expect Trump to understand where "Europe" and "Ukraine" and those sorts of places are, let alone the nuances of international diplomacy involved...it's as likely to get results as expecting a sloth to read and learn Shakespeare and properly recite Hamlet's soliloquy from memory.

Maybe not even then.

On Facebook I've seen before-and-after shots of a Venezuela shop before and after socialism. Of course under socialism the store shelves were virtually empty. I guess this association was meant to make us afraid to elect Democrats - in the absence of good reasons to vote Republican.

I wonder if people will ever get wise to this stuff.
