Ed George Soros and others targetted by Terrorist

So are we just stuck forever in an endless loop of "Argue over who 'counts' as a member of what group and to what degree a group is responsible for extremists sub-groups within itself" until the end of time?

1. Most of these groups are self identifying. There isn't some sort of... accrediting agency handing out official membership cards and collecting dues in most of these cases.

2. Once a group reaches a (relatively small) size limit it's gonna have a few violent extremists just by the rule of averages.

3. Most of these groups are not organized in any traditional sense. They don't have hierarchies or command structures that orders can be sent down through.

Hey, it wasn't a pipe bomb, it was an IED! Completely different! An IED is an Improvised Explosive Device! A pipe bomb is a Device Improvised from a Pipe and containing Explosives. Totally not the same thing, no, not at all.

BB's, on the other hand, are not explosive at all and contain no energetic material. Just solid, dense, metal.

Media is disgusting though.
Caption under all news related to this is "Trump supporter" as somehow Trump is responsible.

Is cool with Trump advocating for violence.

Gets upset when the media draws a connection between Trump advocating for violence and one of his supporters committing an act of violence.

Seems reasonable.

"Why is it the media focuses on the attempted bomber being a Trump supporter yet ignores the mass murderer was a Trump hater?"

Gosh, maybe because there is a difference between a guy who hates Trump for his corruption, incompetence, racism, and buffoonery and a guy who hates Trump because he isn’t racist enough.

How’s that fake bomb hunt coming?

Neither is being ignored. But also, the shooter was fairly normal and seems to have kept their anti semitism to the internet. The bomber had a crazy van, targeted famous people, there was something to do with male strippers, etc. Reporters feel more compelled to cover him because he is literally more compelling.

Nuance is lost on some people, particularly since it damages their position.

Yeah, the "guy who hates Trump" is...a leftist? Clinton supporter? Oh, I know - totally a Bernie Bro, right?

Now THIS is a case of someone trying to create "two sides" when there clearly isn't

Don't know who he voted for, but it definitely wasn't Trump:

"For the record, I did not vote for him nor have I owned, worn or even touched a MAGA hat.” -- Robert Bowers

"A voter registration for Robert D. Bowers states that he is an unaffiliated voter." -- Heavy.com News (Oct 27, 2018)

More on the issue of compelling quality. Bowers doesn't seem to have much of a public presence. The other guy appeared I. Cut footage of a Michael Moore movie.

Got to go where the story.is

Trump might not have been extreme enough for him, but your boy is still a right winger.

Listen, I totally agree that Bowers isn't a Trump supporter. But "non-Trump supporter" isn't really anything close to an affiliation. Furthermore, some of the nonsense that Trump spreads is similar to the nonsense that seems to have prompted Bowers' terrible act.

Bowers was prompted by the belief that Jewish groups try to destroy whites by encouraging immigration from non-whites. Trump claims that Soros is somehow monetarily supporting the caravan, which he also claims is filled with middle-Easterners (though context does not suggest Jews).

Trump is not the reason for Bowers, but Trump does run in the same crowds.

Good luck suggesting that these views are commonplace among those who profess not to support Trump. (ETA: or spouted by any anti-Trumper in a position of authority, ex-KKK wizards aside.)

When certain views reach the extreme, it's hard to say that they are right-wing (or left). For the most part, anti-immigrant views are associated with conservatives in the U.S., but this guy shouldn't reflect bad on the conservatives as a whole.

I think Trump's rhetoric facilitates such problems, but I won't blame conservatism itself.
