Ed George Soros and others targetted by Terrorist

And 2nd amendment solutions, and violence against protestors, and violence against journalists, and viewing people and organizations he doesn't like as evil and the enemy of the people

As much as I dislike the *******, he has no patent on that particular mindset.

Maybe he was motivated by the hostile climate that progressives have created. Labeling everyone on the right a "nazi" to excuse violence against them. Hillary Clinton saying there can be no civility while Republicans hold office. Etc.

He probably wasn't motivated by this guy, or he would have sent real bombs and actually tried to kill someone.

Sorry, are you really suggesting that this rather widespread terrorist attack isn't so bad, because someone on the other side did something worse?

We can all agree that shooting up a Republican ballgame is a truly terrible act. But also sending bombs (perhaps intentionally duds, perhaps not) to those on the liberal side is also a truly terrible act, right? You aren't seriously suggesting a body count as a means to determine which awful individual is more awful, are you?

They both suck. And the fact that they both suck has nothing to do with their political affiliation or their expertise in harming people.

Oh man, it turns out we were friends on the facebook as part of the Former Male Strippers for Trump group.

damn

Hillary Clinton has also called for non-specific violence:

https://www.cnn.com/2018/10/09/politics/hillary-clinton-civility-congress-cnntv/index.html

Why aren't you holding her responsible for this man's reaction?

The advocation and support of violence - and more specifically criminal violence - by Trump and other notable mainstream conservatives isn’t non-specific. It’s very specific and explicit. And it doesn’t require the mental gymnastics in which you are engaging to establish.

Do you need examples?

Please say yes.

Did Clinton repeatedly criticize the DEA or AFT (who had offices in the building McVeigh targeted) and call them 'enemies of the state'? Did Clinton denigrate oklahomans?

I am not claiming Trump deserves some blame just because he's a republican... I'm suggesting he deserves some blame because of his actions. Labeling the media "enemies of the state", getting people at his rallies to chant "lock her up", praising a politician who assaulted a reporter is not just "being a republican"; Its inciting violence.

While Bush Jr. was seen as a poor president in may respects, I don't ever recall him engaging in the type of rhetoric that would incite people to violence.

Honestly, as far as I understand it, McVeigh was badly misinformed and was targeting the FBI (which never had an office in the Murrah building).

It is my sense that both sides are guilty of demonizing the other side to the point where weak-minded individuals buy into the rhetoric of the other side as not just mistaken or misinformed, but actively evil. Hilariously, there are quite a few posters harrumphing about this incident who will probably respond that there's a difference: Republicans actually are evil.

I also note that gee, we have never heard anybody around here suggest a second amendment solution to Trump. Well, not for long anyway; the mods are real good at cleaning those up.

True, but he's the ******* President of the ******* United States. As big a war-loving bozo as many of us believe George W. Bush was, I can't remember an instance when he even obliquely advocated for violence between US citizens. Even violence against "dirty hippies" during the Vietnam War wasn't called for openly by the chief executives in charge during the time.
