Ed George Soros and others targetted by Terrorist

A Native American Trump supporter.

Oh this is gonna be a fun narrative to try and write.

I am seeing varying reports. Fox reported that he is a white male and on his arrest record he is listed as 'White', but he seems to identify as Native American. Not that it changes anything about what he did but simply for clarification, does anyone have any definitive info on this subject?

As others have pointed out... The name appears to be Fillipino rather than Native American.

And if you look at the mug shot links that were provided earlier, he is listed as 'white'. (Not sure if they would have a separate classification for 'Native' or 'Fillipino')

He repeated variations on this:

"We Unconquered Seminole Tribe,Hard Rock,Millions upon millions customers Seminole vets,Seminoke American Top Team MMA.(Absolutely say no way ever to Progressive democratic high taxes and High Crime.Gillum can't handle his own city Tallahassee Fl Leon county highest crime everč"

repeatedly on the Twitters.

he also ran several businesses with "Native American" in the name....

Regardless of everything I've ever said about you, I will applaud you for the term "Vanifesto."

ETA: You know what, fair's fair. You're getting a Language Nom for that one.

Seen "vanifesto" on several other sites earlier, so I think the odds that he just made it up are low

I don't know to what degree this has been confirmed but somebody with at least his name played college level Soccer at UNC-Charlotte in the early 80s.

He's a CTer about soccer too. On the back window he apparently has Clemson's women's soccer team ranked above UNC's.

I saw that, in addition to all the political stuff, he took the time to devote an entire window to encouraging soccer recruits to play ACC soccer.

So, are you prepared to blame Bill Clinton for McVeigh's Oklahoma City bombing, or does this type of silly logic only work when Republicans are POTUS?

I missed Clinton shouting that the federal government was the enemy of the people and advocating violence.

Got a cite?

No?

Color me ******* shocked.

OK, you've already lost the analogy.

I didn't lose it, I discarded it. It isn't useful for furthering understanding.

Trump literally and frequently called people who were the targets of this attack enemies of the state and criminals.

Let's consider actual criminals for a moment. What is the appropriate response to actual criminals? Law enforcement, not vigilantism. Calling an actual criminal a criminal is not an incitement to vigilantism. Calling someone who isn't a criminal a criminal is likewise not an incitement to vigilantism.

He promoted violence towards those who disagreed with him

Specific calls for violence are wrong, and some blame can be assigned if violence follows from those calls.

But he never called for bombs, and it's not clear that the perpetrator responded to whatever calls to violence he did make. As I said, maybe more information will emerge, but as of now this is pure speculation.

and suggested 2nd amendment solutions if the election didn't go his way.

The meaning of his statement in this regard is disputed.

Trump isn't the Beatles in this analogy, he is Henry II.

I know that's what you want him to be, but the facts as known don't support that yet, and they really didn't before the suspect was identified. Again, maybe they will in the future as more information emerges, but they do not as of now.

"He called for violence, but didn't specifically say to bomb anyone."

Stunning. Simply stunning.

To be honest, regardless of which side of the aisle this falls on, he was almost certainly politically motivated.

That's not to say that we judge the actions of this fella as indicative of the party (unless he's remarkably influential in party politics), but in understanding his motive, we totally have to accept that he has a certain political aim.

You're honestly going just a wee bit one-note here.

And regardless of how this turns out, Trump has once again shown his manifest unfitness for office by failing such a simple test of leadership and character. Just imagine how different things would be if the bombs had been mailed to Republicans, or if Trump could blame Muslims. And once again, the failing is not really because of his incompetence but because of his malignant, self-obsessed personality disorder. But whatever else happens, we can be sure that the mighty troop of Trump sycophants, bootlickers, and turd polishers will try to deflect from that fact and continue to depend on his lying and fear-mongering to maintain power. The urgent need for the rich to get rich faster, more unwanted babies and less gay sex is just too important to let any principle whatsoever stand in the way.

And those who can't deign to "take sides" are complicit.

To start with, it still hasn't been established that the culprit even thought he was following any suggestions from Trump, ala Manson/Beatles. All we have is that he's apparently a Trump fan, like Hodgkinson was a Bernie fan. And that doesn't suffice to place blame. More information may well come out in the future, but as of now it hasn't. And as of the time when Trump was blamed for not taking any "responsibility", we didn't even have a public suspect.
Trump's violent, anti-democratic attitudes against the press and his political opponents are so constant that it's become part of a new normal. I would hope that everyone who actually believes in democratic principles doesn't lose sight of how freakishly deplorable this is.

I don't need to prove that Trump specifically influenced Sayoc (or any other cultist who resorts to violence) when we know that he relentlessly stokes the fire, and we know that the base is fervent, and we know a segment of that base (including Trump!) is copacetic with the notion of assaulting people because they oppose Trump. This leaves Trump owning this and every other violent incident in his name, so far as I'm concerned.

The damage control happening across the web right now is... Wow.
