I don't know. I'm just wondering. What is the purpose of a sensus in the US, then? Can visitors and tourists participate? Or do you need an actual address?

<snip>

In general, you need an address.

Decennial U.S. Census figures are based on actual counts of persons dwelling in U.S. residential structures. They include citizens, non-citizen legal residents, non-citizen long-term visitors and illegal residents. The Census Bureau bases its decision about whom to count on the concept of usual residence. Usual residence, a principle established by the Census Act of 1790, is defined as the place a person lives and sleeps most of the time. The Census Bureau uses special procedures to ensure that those without conventional housing are counted;

If the "usual residence" of the visitors or tourists is wherever they are visiting from then they would not be counted.

Do under bridge decks, forest preserves and Lower Wacker Drive count? Because I seriously think they should. The homeless really do need more attention than they get.

They do

"Mark Mather: The main method is to go out to shelters and to the people who are providing services to the homeless in order to collect information about the homeless population. They also go out to designated street locations and try to count people who are living on the street. And for those who they don’t identify in designated locations, they have places called “Be Counted” centers to try to get people to come in and fill out their form."

in the US, the Census in demanded by the Constitution - by hand no less. This makes it supremely inaccurate and prone to local deviations. But it would take a constitutional revision to make it more accurate.
In particular, the Census forms the basis for redistricting: an area with more inhabitants, citizen or just inhabitant, gets more representatives. Hence the understandable incentive for Republicans to under-count areas with lots of migrants (legal or otherwise).

It actually isn't understandable. The immigrants still aren't allowed to vote. Let's say California gets more representation than it supposed to do to the number of migrants. So does Texas and Midwest farm states.

But they pay taxes. "No Taxation without Representation." So, even though they can't vote, they get represented.

A district might get split if there are too many people in it, citizen or otherwise. If said district is Blue, there will be two Dems in the House instead of one.

Trump tweets

"Going to New York. Will be with Prime Minister Abe of Japan tonight, talking Military and Trade. We have done much to help Japan, would like to see more of a reciprocal relationship. It will all work out!"

"Prime Minster
@AbeShinzo
is coming up to Trump Tower for dinner but, most importantly, he just had a great landslide victory in Japan. I will congratulate him on behalf of the American people!"
Someone taught the baby president a new word and made him actually use it! Nice job!
Or maybe he's employed a ghost tweeter with the maturity of an adult.

I'm confused as to why I would need a book to know that Dolt 45 is wildly out of his depth in the presidency - I could have told you that back when he was peddling his racist conspiracy garbage about Obama back in 2011, or when he became a joke of a real-estate developer back in the 1990s.

The same way you need a book to tell you that Donald Trump has a "serious mental disorder": You don't. But people who stake their livelihoods on selling books hope you're so into their narrative that you'll pay them to reinforce it.

ETA: But perhaps you'll find the book(s) informative after all. I picked up Amy Chozick's book about the Clinton 2018 campaign in part because the few blurbs I saw suggested it would reinforce a narrative that I'm already into. But it rewarded me in two other ways as well, one expected and one unexpected.

The expected reward was an insider's view of the campaign trail. The impressions and conclusions of an NYT reporter who supported Hillary, was frustrated by the outcome of the election, and was so close to the campaign itself, are a rare commodity. The book is worth reading just for those insights.

The unexpected reward was that Chozick's book served to humanize Hillary for me, flesh out her caricatured image in my head into something more rounded and relatable.

It's really easy to tell whether the tweets are his own or a staffer. If they don't blame or insult someone, most likely in ALL CAPS, they aren't his.

If there ever was a reason to impeach...

Speaking at the UN, Trump said, "We look forward to working with Iván Duque Márquez's new administration to eradicate cocoa production in his country"

That country being Columbia.

If Trump eradicates Chocolate, the entire Secret Service wouldn't be enough to prevent a "second Amendment solution".
Don't mess with people's treats.

He did the exact same thing at a press conference back in May 2017. Further proof that he's incapable of learning or correcting his mistakes.
