Why should we care who appointed someone, as long as they are competently doing their job?

I have no idea. I assumed that if the US kept insulting them and treating them like garbage that they'd just beg to take part in negiciations. Huh, figure that.

But.... their emails. Kavanaugh's emails also prove he lied under oath at his previous confirmation hearing. That needs more publicity.

It's a safe bet that Rosenstein will be unemployed very soon. Another one bites the dust.

Not safe at all. If Dump fires Rosenstein, he will have a hard time getting a nominee through the Senate. Worse, if he does and the new person clamps down on Mueller, it will drive Dem turnout through the roof, making the mid-terms a worse disaster.

If he does it after the mid-terms, it will not have much of an effect on what Mueller has found so far and won't even halt the investigation. But it will have an effect that will carry through to 2020.

No, the smart money says that Rosenstein is safe for now and that Mueller's investigation will carry through to completion is even a safer bet.

I found parts of it quite humanising, he's described in several places as being motivated by anger at other, much poorer, people's plight.
