Bad news for Rosenstein:

Linky.
A Justice Department spokeswoman also provided a statement from a person who was present when Mr. Rosenstein proposed wearing a wire. The person, who would not be named, acknowledged the remark but said Mr. Rosenstein made it sarcastically.
Maybe.

Mr. McCabe, who was later fired from the F.B.I., declined to comment. His memos have been turned over to the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, in the investigation into whether Trump associates conspired with Russia’s election interference, according to a lawyer for Mr. McCabe. “A set of those memos remained at the F.B.I. at the time of his departure in late January 2018,” the lawyer, Michael R. Bromwich, said of his client. “He has no knowledge of how any member of the media obtained those memos.”
Or maybe not.

And there was this:
“You wrote a memo you knew would be used to perpetuate a lie,” Senator Christopher Murphy, Democrat of Connecticut, wrote on Twitter. "You own this debacle.”

The president’s reliance on his memo caught Mr. Rosenstein by surprise, and he became angry at Mr. Trump, according to people who spoke to Mr. Rosenstein at the time. He grew concerned that his reputation had suffered harm.

Further down in the article it sounds like events are being misstated. Could just be Rosenstein was only talking about recording Trump incriminating himself looking for a new FBI head that would get Trump out of the mess he is in. That's different than recording Trump to show he's unable to function.

Why would he want to do that? This is the UN. Why would the president want to engage in open debate with real, highly educated, well traveled, urbane diplomats? They are going to eat his intellectual lunch. There is no possible upside for him on this. Thnk of all the jabs the Russian ambassador will get in. This would be funny if it weren't going to be humiliating for the country.

We all know he’ll make a fool of himself, further alienate the US, threaten everybody but the bad guys and declare victory.

I don't know. After reading the article with Penn Jillette talking about Trump and other articles:

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...ged-spain-to-build-the-wall-across-the-sahara

I think Trump enjoys ******* with people to knock them off balance. So he'll say outrageous things just to get a reaction (negative is good) and his fan base will eat it up. To us it's not a win but to them ....

Trump's warm-up act in Vegas was Wayne Allen Root, a whackadoodle. For bonus points, Root's wife has a PhD in homeopathy according to wikipedia. So many good jokes there, so little time.

This is so not ok. Please don't do this here.

Root is truly a whackadoodle:

Root went on The Right Side, a talk radio show hosted by Joe Messina, and said, “If you’re a Christian, you just can’t spend your life worrying about the words of Donald Trump from 11 years ago, or what women he groped 30 years ago. I don’t believe any of it anyway. I believe Donald Trump is one of the handsomest billionaires that’s ever lived; I don’t think he ever had to grope a single woman ever. I think they threw themselves at him, so it’s all a lie.”

Root admitted that Trump isn’t a “perfect Christian,” but said that Trump was “the perfect guy sent from God and from central casting to be the vicious guy we needed to save America, save capitalism, fight the Clinton crime cartel and save Christianity from these vicious, vicious people. They’re terrible, dirty people and a nice guy could have never won this war. Only a dirty player could win the war, so I think Donald’s the perfect guy, sent by God to fill the perfect role and save us all.”

Who the hell gives a PhD in that?
And for the love of god... can we get a look at her thesis? :D

Only unaccredited schools:

While a Doctor of Homeopathic Medicine is offered by various schools, with some of them licensed by the state or accredited by state-approved agencies, none of these schools has been accredited by an agency approved by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or U.S. Department of Education. Therefore, if you wish to pursue instruction in this field, you might opt instead to take courses in homeopathy or homeopathic medicine as part of an accredited doctoral degree program in naturopathic medicine.

Thanks, but... everyone seems to have missed the actual joke in my post. :D

eta: Except perhaps Darat (readings might differ, and that memo space is pretty damn small). [emoji14]

No, I got the joke. I just thought you and some others might get a laugh out of the fact that a Ph d in homeopathy isn't worth the paper it's written on. In his book, Wayne Root brags about how his wife is college educated and has a Ph D and speaks five languages. I bet she speaks five languages along the lines of how Melania does.;)

LOL. That's cruel... sort of. [emoji14]
No, I was recalling how, many decades ago when Heinlein and Ginny moved into the Santa Cruz area, he wrote a scathing piece on the sad state of education (focused on the Cal State system) and how easy it was/is to "bluff" your way to an advanced degree.
Got me wondering... just what the hell would an actual thesis on Homeopathy look like?
:D

Washington Post has story with more sources and background suggesting Rosenstein's comment was sarcastic and not meant literally.

However it raises the question which source of Fake News Trump will believe.;)

The reporter, Adam Goldman, who wrote the article disagrees that Rosenstein was being sarcastic. He said the "sarcasm" version is from the DOJ. So they don't deny it was said, just that Rosenstein was being sarcastic. Goldman said his other sources say RR was "deadly serious".

I did some research into the diploma mills that are rampant a while back. They are especially busy in places like Sri Lanka.

ETTD.

The ongoing custody battle between former Trump campaign operatives Jason Miller and A.J. Delgado has taken another nasty turn: In an explosive new court filing, Delgado’s legal team alleges that Miller—prior to their own high-profile extramarital romance—carried out an affair with a woman he met at an Orlando strip club. Additionally, the court documents claim, when the woman found out she was pregnant, Miller surreptitiously dosed her with an abortion pill without her knowledge, leading, the woman claims, to the pregnancy’s termination and nearly her death.

With these allegations entered into the court record, Delgado is asking the court to order Miller—whom the filing says has “unsupervised time” with their child—to undergo a psychological evaluation. The filing says that she fears for her and the child’s safety.

According to the court documents—which were filed in Miami-Dade Circuit Court on Sept. 14 and obtained by Splinter—the alleged relationship started in 2012, when Miller was working for prominent Republican ad firm Jamestown Associates. The filing alleges that Miller, whose Twitter bio states that he now works as managing director at Teneo Strategy and as a political commentator on CNN, brought clients to Rachel’s Gentleman’s Club in Orlando, where he met a dancer identified only as Jane Doe.

Shortly thereafter, according to Joe Doe, Mr. Miller visited her at her apartment with a Smoothie beverage.

Unbeknownst to Jane Doe, the Smoothie contained an abortion bill. [sic]

The pill induced an abortion, and Jane Doe wound up in a hospital emergency room, bleeding heavily and nearly went into a coma.

The unborn child died.
