Cont: The Trump Presidency IX: Nein, Nein!

But Trump has such trustworthy sources backing him up over the supposed problems with the book.

Like Fox News. And Brietbart.
To be fair, at least two of the quoted persons deny they said what was quoted.

I'm not saying that I believe them, but the denials don't come just from right wing media.

I believe that Woodward was told they said such things. I don't know for a fact that they did.

That's my point: it doesn't specify what that means. It's up to the actors in the decision to make that call.

Okay. Then those actors should define it as "supporting liberal or conservative political positions." And every president that is doing that is not able to carry out the duties of president.

This is your opinion.

In the same way that "Relativity works" is my opinion: it's my conclusion based on overwhelming evidence.

You can't objectively state this as fact and thus your argument falls apart completely.

That makes no sense. The invoking of the 25th amendment doesn't require scientific consensus. It just requires the principal actors to agree on it.

This is the kind of unnecessary closing remark that you regularly make that I don't approve of.

Take it up with the one playing word games.

That isn't the part of Trump's behaviour that I'm refering to. If Trump had died 2 weeks into his term and Pence was the President I'm convinced that I wouldn't be talking about the 25th Amendment or about impeachment.

"Isn’t it a shame that someone can write an article or book, totally make up stories and form a picture of a person that is literally the exact opposite of the fact, and get away with it without retribution or cost. Don’t know why Washington politicians don’t change libel laws?"

Trump tweets

"Almost everyone agrees that my Administration has done more in less than two years than any other Administration in the history of our Country. I’m tough as hell on people & if I weren’t, nothing would get done. Also, I question everybody & everything-which is why I got elected!"

"Just like the NFL, whose ratings have gone WAY DOWN, Nike is getting absolutely killed with anger and boycotts. I wonder if they had any idea that it would be this way? As far as the NFL is concerned, I just find it hard to watch, and always will, until they stand for the FLAG!"

"The Trump Economy is booming with help of House and Senate GOP. #FarmBill with SNAP work requirements will bolster farmers and get America back to work. Pass the Farm Bill with SNAP work requirements!"

Sure. Great. Change the libel laws.

Then watch Trump have to deal with a dozen more lawsuits over the "alternative facts" that Trump likes to spout.

Almost everyone agrees that my Administration has done more in less than two years than any other Administration in the history of our Country.

Well, there is a certain truth to that. No administration has done more to turn the clock back on human rights and drive up the deficit during a non-emergency.

Better than Washington! Better than Lincoln, Jefferson, Roosevelt x2, etc.

Trump's the best human in history. Best organism in all of the universe! Including bacteria.

Advocating against free speech again. For some reason his supporters think he advocates for it.

Yup. It's terrible when people don't respect the FLAG.

I bought a t-shirt with the American FLAG on it, to demonstrate how much I respect it:

Oh, and Nike's shares have dropped 3%, but they're still up 25% on last year. I'm not an investor myself, so I'm not sure if that counts as "getting absolutely killed", but I imagine not.

Nearly any kind of "controversy" no matter how manufactured is going to cause a slight stock wiggle just because controversy always makes investors nervous. 3% isn't really worth worrying about and as you say I doubt it will stay that way for long.
