Trump killed a White House Tweet praising McCain for his service:

Every time you think Donnie can't find a way to be more petty, he manages to surprise you.

Nothing he does surprises me any more. SAD!

I wonder how Trump will be remembered when he dies? What will reactions be?
I hope he receives nothing better than the "condolences to family", "hearts and prayers" crap just like he gave McCain. Personally, I'll say "Good riddance. The air won't smell so foul now".

I'd bet if his grave is in a public cemetery it will be frequently vandalized like his star in Hollywood.

I keep wondering how Republicans will treat him once he’s out of office. I imagine it’ll be like seeing that one person you really regret dating for way too long.

“Ugh. There’s Trump. Just don’t make eye contact and maybe we can pretend we didn’t see him. No. Oh, no. He’s coming this way. Okay, be polite and find an excuse to get out of here as quickly as possible.”

I think that's the way most people treated him before he got elected.

And it probably hasn't been all that much different since then.

So, no change, I guess.

My guess is that all his current supporters (or at least non-adversaries) will say, "Oh yeah, I was against him all the time. Bad President. Sad, really." Are there any Nixon supporters any more?

Michael J Fox’s character Alex on Family Ties was a Nixon fan. Maybe Trump can be source of a similar character quirk in a future comedy.

4 - Electorate demands to know why promises were not enacted.

Trumpettes seem to replace step four with blind doubling down in their support of their politician. How on earth does any other candidate counter that? By becoming Trump?
Trump's a con, plus he believes he's the greatest POTUS ever.

He thinks he made the economy great. In reality, the economy had recovered nicely under Obama and the tax cuts to the rich added a stimulus to an economy that didn't need one.

Just like Reagan and GW, pretend the deficit matters when the Democrats control the budget, until you want to give yourself and your rich cronies a bigger tax cut, then stop mentioning the deficit and take credit for the results of the hidden-in-plain-sight stimulus by calling it a tax cut instead of a deficit spending boost.

Of course the economy is doing well, the bill comes later.

Trump tells his adoring masses. They think surely their wages will go up soon, look how well the economy is and they believe Trump is doing a great job.

I suspect some editor at MSNBC has some 'splainin to do".

Upthread, someone linked to snopes...it's photoshopped.

The UK media would run with a headline like that.

ETA, definitely the tabloids; it might be a bit too unsubtle for the broadsheets

Roseanne tried that. It didn't work out very well for her.

Of course, it might have gone better if she hadn't kept her character's "quirks" running full-steam after she was off the stage. Nobody there to vet her script.

A question from the distance:
How Trump is possible? Are Americans like him?

A clarification:
I ask this without any hint of anti-Americanism. The model “Trump” is only American in the surface. The world is full of terrible politicians. Less “brilliant”, sure. But the surface is also the message.
