John McCain Diagnosed With Brain Cancer

Ultimately won out.

I like to think that by revealing their racist bigotry so clearly, and by hoisting to power a veritable caricature of backwardness, sensible people will quash the aspirations of those despicable deplorables.

So that ultimately progress and sanity move us ever forward.

I like to think.

The fact that they hate McCain validates my respect for the man, despite the fact that I absolutely preferred Obama over him for the presidency.

The damage inflicted by President Trump's naivete, egotism, false equivalence, and sympathy for autocrats is difficult to calculate.
-Sen John McCain

I am not sure, but if follows the pattern, the high profile funeral service will be at the National Cathedrial in DC, with a smaller service at the Burial site at the US Naval Acedemy at Annapolis.
I suspect the orders have already been cut for the Misisng Wingman formation at the USNA funeral.

Do you know if his father was buried there? I believe his father was an Admiral.

Both his father and Grandfather were admirals.but chose to be buried at Arlington.
His Grandfather the first Admiral John McCain, was in the 1920'a one of the founders of US Naval Aviation and played a major role in the Carrier War in the Pacific. From a naval standpoint, he was the most dinstinguished of the McCains.

His son is the father of Senator McCain. He was a submarine commander in the Pacific in World War 2.

Just read about Kelli Ward's comments.
What a clueless, classless witch. And If were not for the TOS I would use the word that "Witch" stands for. And I don't use it very often.

I always thought McCain to be too much of a war monger. The military budget couldn't be too large for his liking. But I also remember his common sense approach to some of it. Particularly when he opposed the phasing out of the A10 to let the new JSF handle the ground support.

That element of the GOP was used against him in his 2000 presidential bid when the Bush campaign ran a despicable push poll to hurt him in South Carolina. He was campaigning with his adopted daughter from Bangladesh when voters were asked, "Would you be more or less likely to vote for John McCain…if you knew he had fathered an illegitimate black child?"

The sad part is seeing people sharing the video of him defending Obama from a racist attack during the 2008 campaign and realizing the wing of party represented by the lady in the red sweater he's admonishing ultimately won out.

I had really high hopes for him in the 2000 race and was really glad when his name was rising during the 2008 race. Too bad it wasn't quite the same candidate.

He may have let us down from time to time, but he really seemed like someone trying to do the right thing.

I really thought Trump was done after he dissed McCain for getting captured. I guess I valued McCain more than others did, even if not as much as some.

Unfortunately, nowadays I automatically go to "What's the biggest 'dick' move The PDJT could pull here?" It crosses my mind that he could cancel that flyover citing it's a "waste of money".

He was invited by the Prime Minister. Nobody is sending Trump an invitation to the funeral. In fact, it's been made clear that he wouldn't be welcome.
A skunk would be a lot more welcome at McCain's funeral then Trump would.

And I think the US Navy would officially cancel the flyover, but "Just" happen to schedule a "training" flight that day, and just coincidentally have one of the pilots spate from formation.
If Trum really wanted to alienate not just the Navy but every beanch of the US Military, that would be a great way to do it.

Has there been an official white house statement released regarding McCain's death aside from the tweet?

Then they should buzz the White House or the golf course or whereever he is that day. Complete with sonic boom. :D
