I noticed Star Spangled banner on another old Trump rally over and over. But the live feed from FOX actually had several rock-ish songs and then "Country Road" playing when he appeared. I assume the streaming channel puts in non-copyright songs so the video doesn't get pulled.
(I had never watched one live so I sort of just figured this out.)

I made it to 15 minutes in and decided reading short highlights later was a better idea![/QUOTE]

It's much better to get the highlights later as being exposed to an entire Trump rally can lead to brain damage as evidenced by the people who attend them.

Bad timing that SNL is on hiatus. I'd love to see what they would do with this. Will have to watch Colbert tonight.

Guilty on 8 counts. Mistrial on 10 counts.

The whole trial smells of fish to me. With the amount of evidence in the prosecution's case and the lack of defense from Manafort's lawyers, it should have been a slam dunk for all 18 counts. I think a few jurors are Trump loyalists or were influenced by Trump's people in one way or another. Also, the judge acted very strangely. I wonder if there was a "you were on the list" moment that the prosecutors had to have with the judge.

The judge also seemed biased against the prosecution.

Nuh-uh! I watched the hole raily thing an i dint see any my bran int damajd is gooder than ever now MAGA!

The full scope of the damage will become apparent when you start chanting "Lock her up!" at your kid's basketball games and "Benhazi! Emails!" during business lunches.

I agree. I believe that's why the lawyers had conferences with the judge away from spectators.

In the movie "The Untouchables", they had to tell the judge that he was on the bribery list in order to switch juries. I think the prosecution in this trial may have had to pull a similar tactic to get more fair treatment from this judge.

It only takes one for a hung jury. And even that one voted "guilty" eight times.

Shouldn't Rudy be telling his client to shut the hell up?

He can't, and even if he could, Dolt 45 wouldn't shut up any way. Its a classic part of his narcissistic personalty; they have an uncontrollable compulsion to tell the world how good they are

Narcissists think they are never, ever wrong. They crave approval and adulation from those around them, and they absolutely cannot accept the slightest criticism. When those around them won't fall to their knees in agreement, or heaven forbid, actually criticise them, the narcissist will rage against those who cannot see how wonderful they are.

This is why the Dolt has lost or dismissed so many people around him; when they dare criticise him, they are gone-burger, either because he fires them, or because their lives become so unbearable that they can no longer stand to be around him.

Fact-free speculation and alleged conspiracy in the politics forum. Well, I never.

Just speculation. There is no evidence of a conspiracy. I do note that the judge acted very strangely during this trial and the jury appears to have as well.

I love how Trump is saying, "this has nothing to do with the Russia investigation. This is a witch hunt, etc."

In other words, 'this isn't one illegal thing I might be guilty of, it's a totally different illegal thing that I might be guilty of.' Shouldn't Rudy be telling his client to shut the hell up?

Does Giuliani know shutting up is an option?

The Manafort trial was a mess - but there is another one right around the corner.
The fact that Judge Ellis was at times openly hostile to the prosecutors and seemingly failed to properly instruct the Jury could make it harder for Manafort and easier for Muller next month.

Anyone who thinks Cohen is just a bit part player in this had better think again. At least a hundred tapes have been seized from his offices... we have heard only part of one tape.

I suspect that Cohen has enough to bury Trump.

Looks like Cohen knows exactly what Trump knew, and knows when he knew it.

Maddow's 7 minute interview with Lanny Davis (Michael Cohen's attorney) in which he tells her Cohen has knowledge that should be of interest to Robert Mueller and he is happy to tell Mueller what he knows about the "possibility of a conspiracy to collude and corrupt the American democracy system in the 2016 election" and also what Trump knew about computer hacking.

Should skeptics discuss speculation? It isn't that clear to me. But I'm also the crazy person that doesn't find reasonable doubt standard acceptable for skeptics to discuss a criminal case.

Yawn ... "Who died and made you Einstein?" ... Bob?

Okay, so this was the warm-up. Paulie Ukraine will sit in jail until the Washington case is heard. Not sure what he's going to dread more, the prospect of more isolation from his favorite pastime of witness tampering, the fear of the ultimate "sweet time" in a minimum security prison, or a couple of guys named Dmitry and Sergei catching him alone one night.

If this was a cop show, the DA would now be explaining to Paulie that he's going to be moved, for his own safety, to the nearest facility with a large number of Russian mobsters. The timing's right. Donnie Johnny can't pardon him while there's a case pending, so right now is when you turn him.

And turning Paulie Ukraine is just a distraction, anyway. All he'll ultimately have is a bunch more dots that can be connected and hand-waved away. But Mueller should keep it up and have someone leak the word "collusion" four times a day to keep the Orange Simpleton and his senile mouthpiece (Rudy) focusing on making alibis for something he's not going after. Michael Cohen is about to hand them a slam dunk on Obstruction of Justice. Heck, if the SDNY felt like it, they could go after Trump for obstruction in the Daniels case!
