2017 Off Off Year Election Night

Well at least you could point me to this evidence? All I see is she said he said.

Multiple she saids and other accounts of people being aware of his interest in teenage girls versus his denial.

What do you think of Moore saying the county was “dry” when this girl says he bought her drinks?

I'd say that that wouldn't mean all that much.

A reputable media outlet? Thanks for the laugh of the week!

You dispute that liberals tend to see it as largely reputable?

You might try not making things personal? Are you capable of that?

That was personal? The right, in general, should be paying attention to the log in their eye, rather than trying to solely focus on the speck in the left's eye, in context. You're the one trying to make it personal, not me.

Since when does multiple female accusers sway those on the left?

Well I have no doubt of that, but it brings her story into question.

Liberals look at everything through an emotional prism, so yes I dispute it. Look, they’re willing to convict this guy on heresay.

You're the one trying to make it personal, not me.

I’d love to read how?

You just love this lie, don't you.

As Hannity quakes with anger over the next outrage.

As Glenn Beck wipes another tear.

As the crowd chants, "Lock Her Up - Trump the *****!"

As Mrs. Godfearin' Christian Mom says that Judge Roy or President Trump "is a good man and I jes' know in my heart that Jesus wants me to vote for him even if he done something not-good".

OMG! Brown people are coming to terroristify our country; better build a wall!

Hey, how come I can't get a good job and they're spending all that money on coloreds and furriners to get them jobs?

They're murdering babies in there!!! Sure, I can see why someone would want to murder the doctors in exchange!

When you pry it from my cold dead hands.

I paid for this microphone!

Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!

This is all emotion. Hollywood script-writing emotionalism A sop to the dumbest of the dumb and those with no time for anything but sound bytes.

It's the chief reason Trump got elected. Hate. Get the lower classes to fight amongst themselves and they let you get away with lining your pockets; it's as old as the hills.

No, more like pie in the sky utopian government. See how easy that was?

So, I read the transcript of the Moore/Hannity interview. If you are still pro-Moore, you are pro pedophile. There's not escaping that. It's that bad.

http://www.newsweek.com/sean-hannity-interview-roy-moore-fox-news-708817

A.) Damn you for making me listen to Hannity, who is as slimy a tribal moron as ever.
B.) Hot damn, that's super damning! Damnity damn damn. C.) It's terribly cringy listening to Hannity try to defend Moore and Hannity's own ego at the same time.

Since when does multiple female accusers sway those on the left?

You have a strange view of the left that poorly reflects reality, it seems.

Well I have no doubt of that, but it brings her story into question.

If true, potentially. Still, the records of the legislature would be the first thing to check, for that particular claim. Those would be reasonably trustworthy. In general, though, it might be worth considering the words of Moore's law teacher when considering Moore's trustworthiness, a Christian and a conservative himself. For example,

One: Roy Moore did not get along with his colleagues in law school or on the Supreme Court. The arguments were not over Christianity.

In law school, the arguments arose from what Disraeli called "falling into a deep groove of illogic and being helpless to allow reason to pull you out." If Moore's analysis of a case was tantamount to thinking 1 + 1 = 3, and his classmates reasoned otherwise, there was no backing down by Moore. The class was willing to fight to the death against illogic that no legal mind but one in America would espouse.

Moore never won one argument, and the debates got ugly and personal. The result: gone was the fulfillment a teacher hopes for in the still peace of logic and learning. I had no choice but to abandon the Socratic method of class participation in favor of the lecture mode because of one student: Roy Moore.

Liberals look at everything through an emotional prism, so yes I dispute it.

To the extent that they do, such also quite applies to "conservatives." The emotions are different, sure, but that doesn't change that they are emotions, rather than rational thought. The real difference, overall, is that the underlying values are different. Unfortunately, these days, it looks like the bulk of the "conservatives" have largely shed the parts of of conservativism that could reasonably be treated as rational in favor of cheap rip-offs being pushed by people who want to exploit them, using cheap manipulation of their emotions and very incomplete sets of facts. Again, the right really needs to be paying attention to the log in their own eye, rather than solely focusing on the speck in the eye of the left.

Look, they’re willing to convict this guy on heresay.

Convict? That would require a proper trial, and the statute of limitations has run out, by the look of it. It's hardly only liberals who think that Moore should step down, though. Romney, for example, stated

Innocent until proven guilty is for criminal convictions, not elections. I believe Leigh Corfman. Her account is too serious to ignore. Moore is unfit for office and should step aside.

ETA: Perhaps Fox News might be more convincing, though? (using the link that Craig4 provided)

Gregg Jarrett, a Fox News legal analyst, was no more kind. “I found his answers to be unconvincing and implausible, his entire story to be, in a word, unbelievable. Which means he’s lying.”

I’d love to read how?

You were the one who made the accusation that I was making it personal on rather spurious grounds. You later edited it out, by the look of it, but that was still all you.

You must have missed the Clinton rape accusers and the one he paid off.

More rumor and innuendo? Love it!

I disagree, what the left is doing is far more damaging to the country.

Lol, Romney. Don’t forget McCain. I wonder if you can figure out the real reason they want him to step down?

Go back and look at your post. You specifically used the word “you” to refer to me. ;)

That doesn't even parse. Why not address the big lie. I just listed a handful of conservative emotional heartstring-tugging statements. Ones that make your eyes mist over, probably. And you cite "utopian dreams" as overly emotional? Are you serious, or is "emotional" another of those terms you haven't figured out yet?

I think what you mean is that lefties are all hippie dreamers. Yeah, there's some emotion to that, but it's nothing compared to the boatload of bile that the GOP, Fox, Breitbart, VDare, The Conservative Treehouse, Richard Spencer, et al have the conservative dullards being fed via an intravenous drip feed. Hate is an emotion. The right thrives on it. Fear is an emotion. The right wing counts on it.

It would seem the left has plenty of hate themselves. ;)

OOOOOPS. LOST ANOTHER ARGUMENT. PIVOT TO THE OLD RELIABLE..... ATTACK THE LEFT!

Yep. We hate bigots. We hate misogynists. We hate liars. We hate fascists. We hate the KKK. We hate Donnie Johnny and the Klepto-Kremlin Kabinet.

We love you, though, logger. Do you know how much we'd have to pay down to the Strawmen R Us for posts like yours?

Of course you do, when you're too busy focusing on the speck instead of the log.

Lol, Romney. Don’t forget McCain. I wonder if you can figure out the real reason they want him to step down?

I wonder if you can look past the conspiracy theory answers to that and at the objective reasons for why Americans in general, both liberal and conservative, should want him to step down?

Go back and look at your post. You specifically used the word “you” to refer to me. ;)

As was clarified, the first you referred to the right, in general, which happens to include you. I admit that the first use was somewhat ambiguous, but that doesn't change that your accusation was indisputably an attempt to treat it as and make it personal.

Yeah sure, Hollywood would be your first clue that you’re wrong, oh my!

Damn that was difficult!

Now, if only you could be honest about what you did, we'd be getting somewhere on this rather sad tangent. I'm not sure what you think was difficult, though, given that my first answer to your accusation included -

That served just fine as a clarification. You were the one who chose to try to make it all about you and responded with an attempt at a personal attack, though. *shrug*

Pat Toomey, the famous liberal is also calling for Moore to leave the race. It seems being anti pedophile is bipartisan, in some circles.

The question is, if Moore leaves the race, what happens next ?

Does the GOP re-run its primary ?
Does Strange as the defeated GOP primary candidate get appointed as the election candidate ?
Does the GOP forfeit its right to field a candidate (and rely on write-in instead) ?

The Republican Party officials asking the voters to write in Strange would seem to be the most straight-forward choice, within the rules, by the general look of it. Rerunning the primary seems like a little bit of a long shot, given that this election's already been pushed back, apparently, but would be a preferred option for most of the Republican officials, if Moore stepped down.
