2017 Off Off Year Election Night

The question is, if Moore leaves the race, what happens next ?

Does the GOP re-run its primary ?
Does Strange as the defeated GOP primary candidate get appointed as the election candidate ?
Does the GOP forfeit its right to field a candidate (and rely on write-in instead) ?

I think they go for a write-in campaign for Strange.

Actually, I should have read a WaPo article from today. Apparently it's too late to withdraw Moore from the ballot so if he is withdrawn as a candidate (which, let's face it, isn't going to happen in any case) then votes cast for him simply would not be counted and any alternative GOP candidate would have to be a write-in.

You need help with identifying fake news?

I have exactly the same problems identifying fake news and all the murderers in those cases pending investigation. It's called reason. Pointing some piece of news as fake just because you are not willing to accept its content is called epistemological hedonism from an intellectual standpoint, and being a hard-to-flush turd from the standpoint of social constructivism.

Lol

But Hillary! Leftist don't understand christianity. Forget the facts? Lol

Yeah, they have no choice but to double down and hope they can pull another Trump out of their hats. And, well, it *is* Alabama...

And that's just sad. They are about to push for a guy who sexually abuses minors for senate. They really ought to re-evaluate what it is they are fighting for.

Lol

Willing to accept its content? You’ll have to be more specific. Just about every leftists on here has demanded Moore accept these allegations as his own, even though he says he didn’t do it. That is the only hard to flush turd here, but what do you expect from the dishonest left.

Besides if this was their usual leftist hero, they would be congratulating him. Remember the left doesn’t have any kind of moral high ground on this issue.

I think you are going over the top here, which makes your position assailable. Two points of contention:
1. Your use of the present tense. We are indeed speaking about events more than 30 years in the past, before Moore's marriage. Do you know of any indication this continues in the presence?
2. Your use of the plural, when, to my knowledge, only one case of abuse of a minor has been reported - if we go by the legal definition, which, in AL, makes women 16 or older adult enough to consent.

Lol

A polygraph test takes few hours to be set. If I were a candidate damaged by these so-called "fake news" I'd demand immediately three examinations using polygraphs to be done on a set of pre-arranged questions related to the crude facts in the accusation. It's very simple: my innocence and thus the confirmation of those news to be fake would bring to me undying support.

When are those polygraph tests to be performed? Why is it still "he says, she says"?

Fair enough. I'll revise my statement as follows:

And that's just sad. They are about to push for a guy who has sexually abused a minor for senate. They really ought to re-evaluate what it is they are fighting for.

Does not really change anything about my point.

I'll ask again. In another thread, you cited the National Review as they generally pushed focus back towards Hillary's e-mails.

Do you have any comment about the multiple National Review articles that also largely condemn Roy Moore and how he's being defended?

Besides if this was their usual leftist hero, they would be congratulating him.

Evidence? I don't think that I've ever seen congratulations for anything similar by the left. On the other hand, we've got Roy Moore being compared to Joseph and pedophilia, in general, getting justified and dismissed by ranking rightist Republicans in Alabama as part of their defense, in direct contrast to the "moral" position that they've been loudly proclaiming, which frequently has included condemnations of pedophilia.

That condemners of pedophilia are willing to suddenly jump to its defense is not a sign of them actually caring much about pedophilia.

Remember the left doesn’t have any kind of moral high ground on this issue.

 Actually, they do, both despite and because of the loud noise and demonization from certain parts of the right, many of which are strongly trying defend Ray Moore. There's good reason why the National Review and many other conservatives aren't supporting Ray Moore blindly and with such shallow excuses, after all.

Did you listen to the Hannity Interview? There are also corroborating claims from his colleagues at the time.

Speculation I heard on CNN this morning:

Moore won't withdraw. The party won't withdraw him because the write-in campaign would be doomed to failure and the Dem would be elected. There's still enough support for Moore that he'll probably win the election.

Then it's up to the Senate to decide whether to seat him. It would only take a couple of Republicans to decide not to. Then it's up to the Governor to appoint a replacement. Who might be...wait for it...Jeff Sessions.

ETA: After a bit of research, it appears that the Senate can't refuse to seat him, but could then remove him by 2/3 vote. Ain't gonna happen.

I suppose in your world I can’t agree with certain things they print, we aren’t all monolithic like your side. ;)

Fantasy land. You don’t offer yourself up to something so subjective.

So, your comment is that you disagree. Fair enough, even if that does nothing to actually address the various arguments that are made in the articles, including the ones that directly refute your arguments. Nor, for that matter, does your response address the rest of the points made or the fact that the condemnation is pretty clear on both the right and the left, for reasons that frequently are the same.

As usual, you are pushing strange views about my "side" that seem to be wholly disconnected with reality.
