Brilliant Light Power Going To Market - Free Energy Generator

It seems according to SEC filings that BLP raised c $10 million last summer to pursue the cPV route to market.

I'm wondering what they are actually spending the cash on, as the prototypes we've seen don't seem that sophisticated, complex or expensive.

Probably the same as steorn : a very lavish salary for those involved.

God damn. His company may be a complete and undeniable failure as far as his investors' pocketbooks are concerned, but it's certainly enriching him.

It's like Trump's Atlantic City Casinos. The head man makes a fortune while the investors lose every penny they poured in. During all of this the head man has fans declaring him a genius.

Who are the morons investing money in Mills?

A more efficient way to generate power would be to just burn all the investment money and use it to power a steam engine.

If BLP was going to do the steam engine route first, shouldn't the investment money have been for getting the steam engine version working first? Oh, wait. I guess Mills' unbridled optimism meant he thought that it would be easy to get the steam engine version working, and since he thought the steam engine version was already already in the bag he asked investors for money for the photovoltaic version.

Whichever route he is following, the technology has not yet achieved "proof of concept" status. On the EU Technology Readiness Levels scale, BLP has not yet reached 3 on a scale of 1 to 9.

Raising $10 m now doesn't make any commercial sense (at least for the investors;)).

There is clearly something wrong with BLP's approach. They have been working on commercial applications and prototypes for decades, but have always skipped over producing a stable working demonstration of the reaction that is supposed to power all of these devices.

Everything they have demonstrated either generates so little power that it isn't clear that anything interesting is even happening at all or briefly produces a lot of power while self destructing in a way that could be explained without recourse to hydrinos.

So you're calling Mills a liar and spinning his lies as enthusiasm. Got it.

No, I'm calling him mistaken in predicting that the externally validated energy cells could be tweaked and improved sufficiently to make them into a commercial viable product.

Calling one who is mistaken a liar is bad form indeed. I hope you're not a teacher.

But there must be something to it, or markie would not be so strident in support of every assorted claim made over the past 13+ years?

Surely nobody could be that misguided... or duplicitous?

What prototypes were working?

Several profoundly different prototypes from the 1990s to the the 2010s were validated by outside scientists to produce significant amounts of excess energy for days or even weeks.

Citation please, in any form or fashion outside of Mills blog. Surely one of these so called outside scientists documented their validation someplace.

Imagine if 60 million dollars were invested in this?
Can we reverse global warming?

Now you understand the harm frauds and hoaxes cause?

There are serious problems in this world and serious answers as well. But when you get hoaxes like this happening all the time, it detracts from the real work we must do!

A whole lot of people get seriously angry about this crap. We try to be nice to you and just laugh at the foolishness of it all, but their is a dark sinister undercurrent that is actually reason to be angry at the harm it does to society when parasites like Mills are allowed to ply their scams..

Good article. At least we can agree on something.
But your glaring error is assuming Mills is wrong.
How about you complain about the *billions* of *taxpayer* dollars that truly have been squandered on this or that.

That is a lie, markie, since no consultants verified or validated the existence of hydrinos. Hydrinos were never reported as detected in those consultant reports. Try reading them (see the OP) - what is reported is unexplained (by the consultants) heat or spectrum :jaw-dropp!
  • Rowan University’s report = no hydrinos detected!
  • Rowan University’s report II = no hydrinos detected!
  • UNC Asheville’s report = no hydrinos detected!
  • University of Illinois report = no hydrinos detected!
The spectrum has been explained since 2012: Interpretation of EUV emissions observed by Mills et al.
  • Mills claim of identical spectra for different electrode materials is shown to be false by plotting their data in Figures 1-3.
  • Mills claim that the observed emission cannot be explained as line emissions from the metal electrodes is mostly false since much of the emission can be explained this way.
  • The continuum seen by Mills is probably the instruments used being unable to resolve densely packed spectral lines.
Calorimeter results are easy to get wrong. Look at the cold fusion fiasco and the decades of wasted effort of people trying to replicate it.

You strangely assume the four validation reports are all there is to it. That's only the tip of the iceberg.

For instance google one of the validators - Dr. Ramanujachary of Rowan university, with hydrino and NMR and you will see that he and Dr. Janssen have detected NMR upshifts, indicating hydrino.

Calorimetry is easy with the large excess energy amounts from hydrino formation. Add to this the various types of calorimetry that have been used, and add to this the power spectroscopy results, and add to this that hydrino itself is detected by various techniques, and the case for hydrino is firmly established from multiple angles of investigation.

That's all, markie? After 14+ years of failure and 14+ years before that and all you will do is stretch your timeline a tad? Really? That's not being generous in your evaluation of BLP, that just pure faith, nothing more. You ought to just admit it - if only to yourself - to allow us to evaluate your posts more accurately.

Pure faith? You have to be kidding.

What is the diameter of the hole and what is the outer radius of the dome?

Well surely you've seen the prototype dome. It looks to be about 9 inches in diameter. The hole at the top looks to have varied in size from perhaps 1.5 inches in diameter and less.

And yet you're certain that his optimism isn't getting the better of him this time, because it's completely unlike all the other times his optimism got the better of him?

Dave

There is a indeed a chance that Mills is not foreseeing a major obstacle with the SunCell closed, working continuously at high power. We shall see.

Compared to building a new power generator it would indeed be trivial and cheap.

Yes it would be cheaper of course.

ETA: And many of Mill's presentations have him banging on about his generators taking people off the grid, which is exactly the solution for undeveloped countries without wide-scale existing power distribution grids.

It seems once again you are at odds with Mill's public claims.

Well sure, give people in undeveloped electric stoves, electric pumps, electric refrigeration, etc and then you'll be getting there.

And now you're lying about the content of his statements in order to defend him.

Fascinating.

And at higher temperatures, there is even more waste in the infrared. You understand that increasing the temperature increases the amount of light emitted at *every* wavelength, right? Even the wavelengths incompatible with the solar cells?

With increasing temperature the power spectrum curve shifts to the left, such that photons in the visible range predominate when the temperature is around say 5000K.

You strangely assume the four validation reports are all there is to it.
I read that there are only four validation reports in the OP :jaw-dropp!

I know that a request to google someone suggests ignorance about what that person has published. Especially when that results in the first page being mostly BLP and supporter delusions.

I know about the experiments over the last almost 30 years that have failed to convincingly detect hydrinos. The paper cited in my post shows the effects Mills and other imagine to be hydrinos have conventional causes.

I have read the biography of Dr. Kandalam Ramanujachary and there is no earth-shattering, Noble Prize wining announcement of discovering hydrinos !

21 April 2017 markie: A delusion of "the case for hydrino is firmly established" since they have never been detected.

Calorimeter results are easy to get wrong especially with your imaginary "large excess energy amounts" (the analysis has to be correct before any heat excess is established to be there - Duh!).
Look at the cold fusion fiasco and the decades of wasted effort of people trying to replicate it.
Look at other cranks claiming to get excess heat out of their apparatus.
