You may be Pyschic, not mentally ill.

Unfortunately sounds like this is someone very ill, they may have heard a voice that told them they were being laughed at or something like that.

Maybe just lightly paranoid. I know seemingly normal people that think others are laughing at them or talking behind their backs.

And where did her knowledge come from?

She is presumably psychic herself. I was told from another source that there are minor chakras in the palms and the soles of the feet and the temples. But the first time I ever saw a diagram of them was In Barbara Brenan's book.

The man was sitting in front of me a few feet away, and there is no doubt he laughed. I could give you other examples of his insensitivity. He had a very poor bedside manner. But I decided I could do without him and his medication.

Obviously anyone who begins to believe the voices are "psychic" isn't able to distinguish between reality and their illness so needs a lot of help and treatment.

Unless of course there really is a spirit world. In which case all you clever people have out smarted yourselves.

Rather circular isn't it?

Your assurances are worthless. No offense.

You could not possibly offend or upset me. I was treated as insane from 1969 onwards by my own family as well as psychiatrists. My family called me a fool when I started going to spiritualist churches in 1971. I started looking for alternatives after two years as a mental patient, when I was told I would have to stay on the medication for the rest of my life.
As far as I am concerned I found the answers in the occult and learned how to control my psychic energies. I eventually got off the medication and became an electronics repair man, which is an occupation requiring some mental discipline and knowledge of logic, and I worked under pressure.

I was using the minor chakras to heal myself in the 1970s and I did not see Barbara Brennan's book until the 1980s. This book confirmed to me what I already knew from attending healing classes under Ursula Roberts in the 1970s at the spiritualist association in London. Ursula Roberts is now dead but her teachings can be seen on the Internet.

I see that as a normal response in relation to the situation experienced..

I think of 'the spirit world' as just another name for simulated universes, which individual units and group consciousness experience.
"The spirit world' is the invented word-set of theism to label those simulated universes.

Good on you I say! The important thing oft overlooked by the bias of personal belief systems in opposition with each other, is that 'it worked' out well for the individual. What method was employed (and you obviously gave time to different ones) is so much less relevant.

That it worked out well for you is the relevant thing.

Your intellect prevents you from trusting feelings that might tell you there is a spiritual reality.

Or other simulated universes for that matter. Call it whatever, certain belief systems prevent those under the influence of said BS to seriously ponder the possible existence of such.

I have heard it said the spirit world is similar to this world but the substance it is made of vibrates at a far higher frequency than that of the atoms of our universe. It can be said this universe is an illusion as I think I am right in saying all matter can be converted back into energy. We experience the world as a reality because if we try to punch a hole in a wall it seems to hurt, but firstly the pain is an illusion of electrical signals sent up the nervous system to the brain, and secondly we could punch a hole through the wall, or even walk through it if the nuclear forces were weaker. Atoms are mostly space with nothing in them.

I expect the same is true of any higher worlds which spiritualists call the spirit world. Those higher dimensions are probably also illusions. But I have heard it said the astral plane seems as real as Charing Cross.

Consciousness (what you call 'spirit') is real. The things comprising universes are simulations...that is how I have come to understand it all.

Bit with the rest of the description ?

I know a lot of people who claim to have mystical powers or knowledge, and hear the spirits or whatever speaking to them. Makes them feel special, I guess, but harmless enough. Hell, with enough tequila I am convinced of super powers. I don't think it necessarily indicates mental illness so much as a different understanding of how the world works. Maybe they can't demonstrate it to you or I, but live and let live.

Oh, what's the harm?

I can punch a hole in a wall without causing myself any pain. (Depending on construction material)

Are my chakras broken?

You seem fairly intelligent, mate, but you seem to be not looking at the topic rationally.

I think all the leanin' you've done on the occult, has done you no favours at all.

Do you maintain a relationship with your family?

Are you afraid of the dark? Serious question.

Interesting site. It lists expert witnesses under Pseudo-Science (of the millions of expert witnesses who testify every year, it cited a whopping 14 cases where DNA and other evidence later overturned findings). Lest this be cherry-picking, I looked at ghosts. Seems like ghost-hunters sometimes get shot while sneaking around houses with armed occupants. I'm thinking it is general stupidity that does a lot of these folks in, rather than unconventional beliefs.

General stupidity inspired by their unconventional beliefs.
