Presidential Debates

By the way, ...

Did anyone else happen to notice how Trump sort of admitted that he did not pay any income taxes?

I wonder if that is the real reason why he does not release his tax records.

Probably.

The best way one could spin it would be an implied "if".

IOW, "IF I didn't pay any income taxes, its because I'm smart".

It was a pretty quick rejoinder and I'm not sure too much weight should be put on it.

That said, not releasing his taxes is suspicious on its face.

Assuming he just engaged in tax avoidance, what is the problem?

He seems to have a talent of lying in the moment, and not caring about being fact checked later. Maybe that is beneficial. If so, I would expect his tax returns to be released very close to election day, spun with a lot of explanations about deductions and business rules and such, that he figures will not be completely digested by the voting public until after the election.
Nah he won't release them at all.

That isn't the issue.

1. Not worth as much as he says he is (i.e., less income)
2. Doesn't give anything to charity
3. Owes money to people he doesn't want it known he owes money to
4. Owes a lot more money than he has claimed
5. Mixes his personal/business/foundation money in a way that is probably illegal

Assuming he just engaged in tax avoidance, what is the problem?

There is no problem at all.

Assuming that Donald Trump does not pay any taxes, then it goes to show that Donald Trump is nothing but a greedy, self-absorbed prick.

While such behaviors are quite common for the very rich, however when such behaviors become public knowledge then they can undermine the public support which is needed in order for one to become the President.

I'm going to give The Donald a break on one thing: When he said he never said China was behind the hoax of global warming, he wasn't lying, as such. He just says so much crap all the time, whatever comes to the top at the time, that he didn't remember.

So what are the odds that after Donald finds out that most people think he lost the debate will claim that it was rigged? 100%?

I think the next debate will be moderated by Anderson Cooper? Who will probably be tougher. Not that Lester Holt did a terrible job.

The Trumpkins are already on the case. Holt only asked Trump tough questions and didn't ask Clinton any, plus something about him having a faulty mic.

How many deductions have you skipped if you are so horny for giving money to the government?

I think he was saying 'big league', not bigly, although I think bigly should now be a new word anyway. and not just any word. a best word.
No one's ever accused him of being particularly eloquent, and it's not a prerequisite (i'm lookin' at you Dubya). The 'very against-police judge' was another eloquence fail but I'm more concerned about his questioning the impartiality of the courts when it suits him than his inept phrasing.
I also thought he was saying "big league". Not that it makes any difference given his rambling, incoherent answers. Personally, I think "bigly" fits his style better. :D

Some of us view paying taxes as a real duty to ones society and nation. I always pay mine because I believe in the value of big government and the need for socialized safety nets.

But if one happens to be a psychopathic lunatic piece of scum then not paying taxes would be fine. Even commendable. But I view such people as not worth the air they breathe. Air kept clean by the taxes the "little people" pay for.

No, Hillary was absolutely right on that one. Trump tweeted on Nov 6, 2012:
"The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive."

More on Politifact.

Especially alleged billionaires.

Let me guess, all the deductions you have taken fulfilled your duty and you were not abrogating your responsibility.

Even the republican talking heads concede that Trump fared poorly.

He apparently won the low IQ demographic though. He positively slayed the 16-17 range. Modern analytics, gotta love them.

You mean that's the IQ range he's targeting? Sounds like a stupid move, those people likely won't be able to find the polling station. :)

Assuming he just engaged in tax avoidance, what is the problem?

In 2012 it would have meant he was in the 47% of Americans who are takers because they pay no taxes.

In 2016, and given that he's Donald Trump, it's probably not a problem to people that support him anyway.

Did anyone notice that the cameras made them look the same height? Donald is like 7-8 inches taller.

I noticed. After they reported how the podiums were different sizes and there weren't any adjustments made, it was clear something was done to compensate.

I'm waiting for Obama to come out with the fact that Trump had NOTHING to do with his releasing his long form birth certificate. :) :) :)

Not to mention Obama had produced his actual birth certificate long before. That's when the nut-jobs started asking for the "long form". After he produced the 'long form' Trump questioned if it were fake.

Trump has a perfect memory, it allows him to forget inconvenient facts.
