Presidential Debates

I'm waiting for Obama to come out with the fact that Trump had NOTHING to do with his releasing his long form. :) :) :)
Didn't the whole thing about Obama releasing his "long form" birth certificate have to do with the state of Hawaii? I could be misremembering.

Donald actually said "bigly" during the debate. And I loled.

I think he was saying 'big league', not bigly, although I think bigly should now be a new word anyway. and not just any word. a best word.
No one's ever accused him of being particularly eloquent, and it's not a prerequisite (i'm lookin' at you Dubya). The 'very against-police judge' was another eloquence fail but I'm more concerned about his questioning the impartiality of the courts when it suits him than his inept phrasing.

MSNBC showing proof that murders are down even after stop and frisk. Donald of course lied and said it wasn't unconstitutional.

Excellent job by Lester Holt keeping it mostly under control.

Boy, I really differ on that one. I thought Holt almost completely lost control of Donald.

I think the next debate will be moderated by Anderson Cooper? Who will probably be tougher. Not that Lester Holt did a terrible job.

Actually, he was ineffective. Another loser moderator.

I thought he did a good job. Trump blustered and bullied, and Holt gave him some rein. But if he didn't, imagine the outrage of Trumpistas.....

I actually like how she called him Donald instead of Mr Trump or whatever.

that was for me almost the entire debate won from the start: Clinton knew that Trump would desperately avoid calling her anything like "Crooked Hillary", so much that he went for "Secretary Clinton".
She calling him Donald (and often) was a beautiful power move.

And he actually asked her if it was ok.

I am slightly surprised that he didn't call her Crooked Hillary to her face. Didn't he say Little Marco to his face?

His repeated use of "secretary" started to sound like a sexist slur. He might have done slightly better with "Mrs. Clinton" though.

I think he let Donald make a fool of himself.

Yeah, I admit, that's a completely plausible explanation of what was going on. I just don't buy it.

But what's really frustrating is that I was screaming at the TV for Holt to get his act together but he apparently didn't hear me or, worse, heard me and ignored my admonitions. Bummer.

When Trump asked Clinton if she preferred being addressed as "Secretary Clinton," if that made her happy, that her "being happy was important" to him, I found it boorish and arrogant. Completely uncalled for.

Former Connecticut Governor Lowell Weiker, a Republican, was right: Trump "is a dirtbag." ;)
