All Democrat presidents since FDR have taken away all your guns. They were just so clever about it that no-one realized that they had done it. That is why you all think you still have guns. In reality there are dozens of warehouses in Area 51 stacked full of guns that no-one has ever seen. They actually had to relocate the aliens in order to make room for the guns. VICE News requested access to the event earlier this week and was told by the Trump campaign that its status was "pending." Thompson entered the lobby of the Omni to ask members of Trump's communications staff whether a final decision on access had been made.

A man who identified himself as a hotel manager then asked Thompson to leave and warned that he would be arrested if he did not. Roughly two minutes later, without further warning and while Thompson was waiting for a member of Trump's staff to clarify his access to the event, he was arrested by Houston Police, handcuffed, and escorted outside. Thompson spoke with his editors while handcuffed and said that he was never given any opportunity to explain himself to police.

Clinton is right about her "basket of deplorables" comment, but she low-balled the percentage. Trump has done over a dozen things that would disqualify a normal candidate, and it doesn't faze his supporters. They either hate Clinton so much they're sticking with Trump, or they just give Trump a pass on literally anything because he "talks tough". Either way, they are, indeed, deplorable people.

More than that, anyone who wants to denigrate unregulated Democracy will have Trump to point at. Putin's managed democracy suddenly looks less unattractive. As does Erdogan's, and the Egyptian generals', yadda yadda. "Apres moi, le deluge".

It's not as if democracy's that easy a sell as it is. The West may say it's what made them great, but the post-Imperial world is more open to the argument that it got great by conquering and robbing them. They were even denied rule by their own despots, let alone their own population. Oh, the schadenfreude there would be ...

So, touched a nerve there. Shown to be lying not to Joe Public, because who gives a toss about them?, but to people of some status. Both sides will assume it's them because anyone would be a fool not to. They're not going to erupt on twitter, but there are worse things.

A "leading small business group" might, for instance, suggest that its members boycott Trump-owned facilities such as hotels and golf-courses in retaliation for his disrespect. That could sting.
