Trump runs for POTUS / Trumped Up! Part V

Anyone think hackers, Russian or otherwise, might have hacked Trump's returns and are just waiting for an opportune time to release them?

Even one fabricated out of whole cloth could force his hand, in order to rebut the fictitious one.
On the latter point, who would believe what Trump produced over what an honest criminal presents as the real thing?

I knew the answer would be special pleading. I asked the question just to see how the hypocrisy would be phrased.

The taxes are relevant. The liberals know it, the honest conservatives know it, and the video evidence shows that Trump, himself, knows it. Nothing has changed in the past four years. The taxes were relevant then and the taxes are relevant now.

Actually the taxes are more relevant now because this candidate is running on a platform of being the shrewdest businessman in the country. For others to ask for evidence of this claim is not only correct, it is a patriotic duty. All critical-thinking Americans should be asking for evidence of all important claims - especially when presenting the evidence is as simple as releasing a tax return.

The fact that Trump is afraid to release it should be worrisome.
I never said they aren't relevant. I've said no one cares and there really isn't a damn thing the libs can do about it. ;)

NRA has been pushing that one pretty hard. Local pawn and gun has a stack of glossy, color, heavy stock, two-sided flyers announcing Hillary's intentions to TAKE YOUR GUNS!!!!
And of course all the libs run ut and say she won't. Everyone knows she will ban some while severely restrictions others. She'd never admit to it being the known liar she is.

Yeah, **** rules! Rules are for pussies. Real men don't need no rules, right?

Why don't you stop saying nonsense.
Why is it difficult for you to understand you don't agree to rules that restrict your argument. That is hilarious. Liberals are always trying to stack the deck in their favor.

True. I remember when Obama took away all our guns, just like the NRA warned us he would. Now Clinton wants to take them away all over again!

Yes, but Russia wants him to win.

"Neener neener neener we're gonna wi-in and you-ou can't stop us!"

(For those who don't recall the 2012 elections, get used to this tactic. With a little searching, you will note a striking similarity to certain posters' taunts. No content, mucho contention. Right down to the wire, then strangely silent when the GOP goes down in flames,.... yet again.)

Maybe you don't remember the opposition he had. Funny how liberals seem to forget history. Too bad he didn't do it in his first two years.

You mean Obama didn't push through legislation confiscating guns or even enacting sweeping gun control during the two full years he (according to you) easily could have?

Huh.

The FDA and patents certainly do restrict alternatives.

But the FDA requires testing to show that an alternative is functionally equivalent. All this talk about how there would be more alternatives, if not for the FDA, is silly, unless we know that the alternatives would do what they are supposed to do (without doing things that they really should not do).

Your criticism is silly. Requiring rigorous testing is a good thing. It increases the cost of entering the market, and so restricts alternatives, but it does so in order to ensure that consumers will get what they actually need.

(Patents, meanwhile, don't restrict actual alternatives, but restrict who can sell the particular drug in question for particular purposes.)

Hey, I have Libertarian leanings, but anyone complaining that the FDA is unnecessary goes rather too far in my book.

This is all prefaced on the FDA being able to determine if a drug works and is safem. They cannot. Efficacy and risk are not binary. They are on a continuum.

If you want a universal standard of risk for everyone, I would gladly debate if the FDA is the best method to achieve that. However, my primary argument would be that deciding on how much risk a person should accept is hubris.

Maybe.

Or maybe just cause turmoil.

Who knows?

Hey don't interfere with the entertainment. Watching Republican Trumpkins request and cheer Russian interference in the election is a level of self-debasement you usually have to watch Japanese game shows to witness.

As an aside, every time a member here uses a derogatory or foolish name, be it Trumpkin or Killary, I figuratively roll my eyes and that member is slightly diminished in my view - it's just childish.

On a related note I was skimming some of Upton Sinclair's books for an article (did you know he was interested/believed in telepathy?). I'm sure those suffering from libertarianism would have no problem with the situation of The Jungle and The Brass Check.
After all, the market will fix anything...
