Trump runs for POTUS / Trumped Up! Part V

That was a bad day for the egg.

Now his father had some substance. A man of respect. That's the last thing one can say of Trump.

I tend to look at parents by how well their children turn out. And while it's clear that Fred Trump was a very successful businessesman, when I view just how horrible a human being the Donald is, I think he must have neglected the development of his son. Trump's abusive treatment of others is unacceptable and disgusting. He's immature, obnoxious and arrogant. These are not traits I would want in my children.

It could, I think, rather more reasonably be argued that a torpedo boat captain who's never had a boat sunk lacks the required risk-taking ability than that a businessman who's never been declared bankrupt lacks the required risk-taking ability.

Dave

Yes. Risk taking is a factor. But the problem is, in his own words, Trump is "not a data guy." When he was buying in to Atlantic City, industry insiders pointed out that Pennsylvania and Connecticut had closer casinos and that the AC market was going to drop. Trump ignored the data and thought that the name Trump at the top of a hotel would make New Yorkers drive the extra distance (through NJ (no offense intended, NJ)) to stay in a Trump building a block or two a away from the pawn shops that marked the decline of the city.

And I want to point out that back in early 2015, someone confronted him on the casino bankrupcies and his response was to brag that he made money off of the bankruptcies while following all the laws.

Latest Trumpers' talking points about Donald's refusal to release his tax returns: Disclosing tax returns is part of the politicians rigging the system against business persons. Politicians pay highest rates because their income is all from salaries and speaker's fees while business persons pay the lowest rates because they are business people. So it's all about tax shaming.

Of course that ignores the fact that most people running for POTUS are millionaires with income besides salaries and speaking fees, and the public also wants to know about Trump's claims of charitable donations.

Clearly it reveals Trump has indeed been ducking paying taxes, donates to politicians not charities and more than likely is not a billionaire.

Latest Trump news, while jacking up the rent payments he's taken from his campaign donation coffers, many of his top staff were never paid, they were considered volunteers.

Could this guy get any sleazier?
I'd like to say "no", but it doesn't seem to matter how low the bar is Trump seems to find a way to go lower.

I'm thoroughly convinced that Trump is cheaper than cheap. That actually donating his own money to charity is something he doesn't do and his taxes would reflect it.

I saw Trump just this morning saying that as soon as Hillary releases the 33,000 emails he'll releases his taxes, despite being prohibited from releasing them because of being under audit, according to him. He then went on to talk about the program Hillary used to delete the emails so no one could ever get them back!

I thought he looked quite good standing next to the Mexican President. You could imagine him looking and behaving quite normal in meetings with other leaders (if you squint your eyes).

Yes, a very successful meeting with the Mexican President. So successful that the Mexican finance minister who arranged it has resigned due to outrage from the Mexican public that a meeting with Trump even took place.

But, you know, other than that, a very successful foray into foreign affairs and a sign of what to expect from Trump's statecraft hereafter.

You're about the only one.

And yes, he makes adjustments... so he can make all new mistakes.

Unfair! Trump obviously makes adjustments. He says all illegal immigrants will go on day one, and then says that only the bad ones will go, and then all will go, and then there will be a path to legal status, and then the only path requires deportation...

Say what you will about Trump, but he is a man capable of making adjustments, often mid-sentence (if you can actually break his meanderings into sentences).

I miss the intellectual eloquence of George W. Bush.

But Bush wasn't very eloquence.

Oh, wait. I get it.

Great line. I wish I'd thought of it.

Trump is the Sybil of candidates. His positions are like the weather, give it a little time and he will change them.

If I came across someone babbling like that I'd want to check them for concussion. This is not the speech-pattern of an unimpaired mind.

It's the speech pattern of someone who is making **** up because he doesn't understand the question.

Which is the smallest lead for a Republican among military people and veterans ever. He can't even turn out his base.

He's also losing to Gary Johnson amongst Military - so really they think he's a ****up just like most of the rest of the world.

Oh that's just too perfect. Even the military, the most reliable base for the GOP (because they pander to them nonstop), can see through the nonsense.

Not only was buying casino's in AC advised against, trump did it 3 times! He bought his first one but shortly there after the larger casino across the street came up for sale so trump bought that one too. Not long after his ego told him he had to have the Taj because it was the biggest casino in AC so he bought a third casino in a failing market.

Now trump owned 3 casinos that were all competing against themselves. He poured everything into the biggest prize, the Taj, and siphoned off his own customers from the other two casinos he already owned. He bankrupted himself! The man is a world class idiot. The only thing that stopped him from losing everything in AC was that the bank that lent him the money for the first casino also lent him the money for the other 2 and trump airlines, all of it secured with his daddy's good name! If they foreclosed they could implode the bank because they had so much money invested in this moron.

Now American banks will laugh their butts off if trump asks for loan, they know he isn't worth a dime. So trump had to do is next round of to the hilt borrowing from duetschebank who also had to settle trumps accounts without foreclosing because they too were so heavily invested in him!

Where is trump getting credit from these days? Who knows? Some people are saying russian and chinese banks may be bankrolling the orange failure. Why won't he release his taxes? Does he owe more than he is worth? Who holds that debt?

The guy is a monster of a failure. There isn't a single rational argument in favor of a trump presidency.

It is too perfect because it's an utterly bogus poll. It's every bit as credible as one of the thread polls here.

Somehow I doubt that you understand the first thing about the casino business or finance in general. Maybe Trump made bad decisions, maybe he got unlucky (followed up by lots of luck), but I doubt you have any idea which it is. I sure don't.

Where is trump getting credit from these days? Who knows? Some people are saying russian and chinese banks may be bankrolling the orange failure.

Why won't he release his taxes? Does he owe more than he is worth? Who holds that debt?

His tax returns won't tell you any of that actually. He's probably not releasing them because he doesn't feel he has to in order to get elected, and if he loses, he's probably going to wish he hadn't released them.

The guy is a monster of a failure. There isn't a single rational argument in favor of a trump presidency.

Well, the most rational argument is that he isn't a Democrat, and the second most rational one is that he isn't Hillary. The third is that he will crack down on illegal immigration, at least more than any other candidate would. It's kind of amazing that proposing something as rational as building a wall on a border where there are a million illegal crossings a year is considered somehow beyond the pale.

What if you're a late night comedian?

You got me there.

It is too perfect because it's an utterly bogus poll. It's every bit as credible as one of the thread polls here.

It's every poll. But i am sure you will hand wave them away too.

As a business owner for nearly 15 years I know a thing or two. I know I haven't had any bankruptcies. I know when it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it's probably a duck. I know a bad decision when I see one, like borrowing more money to compete with your other 2 borrowed money businesses. It's pure ego with him. A full on idiot when it comes to business. Just look at all his failures.

What's good for the goose...

Because they would tell us what a lying fraud he is?

Something tells me you don't know the first thing about immigration or immigration policy in general.

Still not a single rational argument in favor of a trump presidency.
