I fail to see how that applies to a paid speechwriter reusing old material.

I don't care about the plagiarism Ginger. That's just a bunch of "inside baseball" IMO. About the only people that care are people who never were going to cast their vote for Trump anyway.

I'm not following you. There are a fixed group of people who will vote for Clinton or Trump regardless. What is it you think influences the fluctuating middle?

Of course you did :D And all she is is a sex object.

More irony...

You can call it satire but if someone dares call Hillary "shrill:" Sexist!

Look. I won't defend the plagiarism; that was blatant and stupid. But I thought women could be beautiful while still maintaining the right to be a human being. I guess I was wrong.

You can be a beautiful woman without being a sex object. Just not one that would marry Donald Trump.

Dana Milbank covering the RNC:

Midway through the 8 p.m. hour of Monday’s programming at the convention, Patricia Smith, whose son was killed in the Benghazi terrorist attack, spoke emotionally about how “I blame Hillary Clinton personally for the death of my son.”

But her speech was preempted — by the candidate.

Fox News’s Bill O’Reilly, citing a “breaking-news situation,” cut off convention coverage to do a phone interview with the candidate. Trump’s “breaking news” turned out to be little more than a denunciation of Ohio Gov. John Kasich for skipping the convention. “Look, I beat him very badly” in the primaries, Trump taunted. “If I were him and gotten beaten that badly I probably wouldn’t show up either.”

Upstaging his own convention speakers? Classic Trump: Self-worship over sound judgment.

I think things that Trump or Hillary say have the most impact. I think the Trump University scandal might have a big impact. Anecdotes about how Trump has cheated many people while enriching himself. I think his blatant misogyny, sexism and racism all might have an impact.

What I don't think will have much of an impact is whether his wife or children's speeches lifted a few lines from elsewhere.

There are countless good reasons to cast your vote against Trump. I just don't believe his kids or wife speeches are among them. Although I don't think the wife's story helps at all. Not her speech, which I see as meaningless, but the story of a Trump's 3rd trophy wife 30 years younger than him. That just screams disloyal.

I don't get the point of his family doing speeches.

Do they think it will affect voting?

They are supposed to be humanizing him I think. Though in trying to humanize Donald his wife (or whoever wrote the speech) couldn't do it without stealing the words of the wife of the Republicans' greatest enemy. LOL.

It's a bit of a tradition, since the presidency, as an office, carries a lot of the gravitas that a lot of other countries give to royalty.

Also, who else will say something nice about Donald Freaking Trump?

Good point

I was shocked to see Clint Eastwood supports him

Then you missed the actual issue which was not that Melania used plagiarized material or that Donnie Jr had a speechwriter that reused material.

The issue is, these are all indicators of a really poorly run campaign, they are indicators of incompetence which is a direct reflection on Trump himself.

Yay Don Lemon standing up to the Trump pundits trying to deflect the issue to: Clinton is dishonest and, there are more important things in the world.

Lemon: "If it's [Melanie's plagiarism] not important, why are we here?"

True, but you can add that to a heap of evidence that already existed that the Trump campaign was (is) a real clown car full of mostly incompetents.
