Likely vice president running mates 2016

Apparently his kids want Pence. Trump's probably more likely to listen to them than to actual political advisers.

I'm amazed Christie has stuck around this long given how much influence the family has on the campaign. He's the prosecutor that put Jared Kushner's dad in jail.

It's a gold-plated opportunity to line them up on a stage in public, turn on the cameras, and point at one and say "You're fired!".

My pick (General what's-his-name) seems to have faded. Looks like it's going to be either Newt or Pence. Probably Pence.

It really depends on the mood he's in. Yesterday he was feeling sorry for himself 'cuz there are so many people who are attacking him. Pence might bring experience and some semblance of stability, but he's not a pit bull. Newt gets tested for rabies when he goes to meetings. Christie's been taking body shots for Trump for a while.

I think the combination of experience and fighting spirit gives the edge to Newt. I think the personal thing goes to Christie. Pence is a compromise candidate and with no volatility, so rather than tamp down Donald's shenanigans, he'll probably inspire him to greater lows. Trump needs the fighting - it's all about the battle, not about winning. He'll declare himself the winner no matter what happens, but he's gotta get his shots in there.

It might be Newt, but I don't think the news that Fox News is suspending him makes it any more likely.

To me, Pence is the most sensible choice. Christie would be a bad choice, Flynn worse. Gingrich somewhere between Christie and Pence.

The main reason being that other than Pence, none of those people are especially appealing to evangelicals or movement conservatives. It would just be more fodder for the "Never Trumpers" if he picks someone who isn't seen as a "real conservative".

Pence is the only person of the VP short list not listed as a speaker for the convention but there is a spot for the VP nominee. Either Pence pissed off Donald so much yesterday that he's a persona non grata in the campaign or he's the VP.

It won't matter who gets picked, it's just a body to fill a place at the far end of the Whitehouse dinner table.

Point is: Who knows the name(s) of The Donald's immediate subordinates in his own businesses? Anyone? I sure don't and I bet few do. That's because the Donald's business is all about the Donald, and there is no second place just losers. So the Veep position is probably being sorted out by Trump's aides using rock-paper-scissors in a bar somewhere. Loser wins.

I want it to be Ivanka. Just to shake things.

I can just see Donald bragging about his choice.

People, people, how about my daughter Ivanka....isn't she great? And what a rack. Wouldn't you like a piece of that? Can I pick em or what? She's going to be the best Vice President in history. You've never seen such a great Vice President. My understanding is one of her main jobs is to pick ties in the Senate. No one is better at picking ties I tell you. She picked this one I'm wearing. Didn't you darling?

She nods, yes daddy

Ivanka, you're lovely. Isn't she a ten people? I mean I made her, of course she's a ten. America is so lucky, were so lucky people. We get not just one Trump, but two. It's a double Trump. Like the 2 for 1 special at the buffet at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. Only on Tuesdays people.

NY Times is reporting paleo-conservative Mike Pence is getting the nod.

I thought Newt's crazy would charm Donald but he probably doesn't want someone that could draw attention away from him by being a bigger lunatic. Poor Newt always a bridesmaid, frequently a groom.

Christie is tweeting that he does not like coming in second.
IMHO Christie is furious that he sold his soul to Donald and is not getting anything in return.

I wonder if he is hoping for Attorney General or a cabinet position. Those would be much better than Vice-President.

The harder Christie kisses Trump's ass, the more Trump bullies him.

I'm 99% sure Trump had him vetted just to mess with him.

Given Donald's love of TV, I've got even odds he starts calling him Reek before the end of the campaign.

And apparently Pence is not even a big favorite among conservatives who dislike his handling of several issues.
Maybe the Donald thinks Pence will be "Impeachment Insurance",he would be so objectionable as a potential President that people would think twice about Impeaching Donald?
