Why are tennis balls an item "determined to be a clear and present danger"?

Washington state police officers have warned people to not pick up tennis balls from streets during the holiday weekend because many DIY fireworks makers use tennis balls. When the poorly made devices don't go off as intended, the makers leave them in the park or on the street but these amateur devices can go off at a later time. The police told CBS news that at least one dog was killed by this type of device.

I understand your repugnance at watching Trump;but his delivery is as much an indicator of his craziness as a the speech itself.

I really hope there is no major attack on the convention. I can already imagine the CT kooks wailing about "folks in the know" staying home because they knew of the threat.

I think we know how it'll go at this point: it will be empty and sad. Protesters and counter-protesters will try to cause a scene for media attention who'd rather drum up useless hype for a political coup. Trump will put his foot in his mouth. They will nominate him anyway. Trump will say something grandstandingly obnoxious. He will nominate Chris Christie as VP while insulting him to his face. Everyone will sigh and go home to drink.

I think Branson, Missouri might have more headliners than the RNC.

I wonder if Trump believes them when the entertainers and other big-name celebrities say they have a scheduling conflict? I suppose a lesser man might take a hint. My guess is Trump is too "alpha male," to consider that he, himself, is the reason it is so hard to book people.

Can anyone tell me what is the least bit interesting about watching 4 days of boring speeches in prime time? I might be a tad curious to see what the family has to say about narcissistic Daddy. And I'm curious if Melania is actually capable of giving a speech. My guess is she will tell us how wonderful the Donald is and not much else.

I lack even the mild curiosity. I will watch as little of it as my not being in control of the remote allows.

What will happen:
Donald Trump will be nominated.
Mike Pence will be nominated.
A parade of speakers will tell us Trump is great. Yoogely great.
The same parade will go on and on about Crooked Hillary.
People will protest. Some idiots on both sides will get arrested.
A week later nobody will remember who spoke or what they said.

Those are going to be some crowded elevators. I watched a thirty second Fox montage plugging their convention coverage..... not a brown or black face to be seen. I'm sure the P.R. people have a map to the eleven blacks who will be in the room and not in guards uniforms so they can point them out to the network guys.

I hate to say this, but this is not a new phenomenon for a RNC. There is always a dramatic difference in diversity seen at the conventions. Years ago I turned it into a drinking game. Every time the TV cameras panned and focused on someone with dark skin you take a shot. (it's not often) This year it will be worse.
