Yeah, like screaming out "delegate counts" in bolded large font including superdelegates in unsourced numbers. Can't understand how anybody can be proud of that, or even bother the net with it at all.

Well, yes "delegate counts" certainly seems biased. Not.

The numbers are not unsourced, there's a link on the first post to the current delegate counts per the NYT. I mentioned that that was the source I was going to use. No one objected; we could've discussed using another source.

Some people like to discuss their wishes, some people like to discuss the hard numbers. I created the thread for the latter and because I was tired of seeing bits and pieces of information on the topic in the myriad threads.

Proud of it? What a stupid comment. Pride has nothing to do with this thread or my posts. In some instances "pride" can be seen as the opposite of "shame" so I understand the confusion.
 
And now Bill seriously puts his foot in it while campaigning for Hillary. Heard about this on NPR yesterday.

Needless to say, the reaction from the black community and activists was less than positive; while the reaction from Republicans were highly favourable.

When the far-right nutjobs agree with you and support your policies, you're definitely doing something wrong.

This may have cost Hillary a big chunk of her lead, and is likely to damage her going into the PA and NY primaries unless she can do some serious damage control. Unfortunately, she's not shown much sympathy to the BLM or other activist movements, and has been putting her foot in it repeatedly herself.
 
In more bad news for Sanders, FiveThirtyEight has a new article out which shows that even if by some miracle Sanders were able to turn things around and get more pledged delegates than Clinton, he would not have more of the popular vote. This is bad news for the idea of super delegates switching to reflect the will of the people.

"Bernie Sanders’s supporters are fond of the hypothesis that Democratic superdelegates, the elected leaders and party officials who currently support Hillary Clinton by a lopsided-doesn’t-even-begin-to-describe-it 469 to 31, are going to bow to the “will of the people” if Sanders ends up winning more pledged delegates than Clinton by June.

There’s just one hiccup in this logic: Sanders fans seem to be conflating the pledged delegate count and the “will of the voters,” when in fact the two are far from interchangeable."

"Even if he were to turn around his 212-delegate deficit and claim a 2,026-to-2,025 lead, he’d only close the popular vote gap by about 1.7 million votes, leaving Clinton with a 670,000-vote advantage."

I could make a pretty good argument that votes later in the primary process should count more than votes earlier in the process.

Then the next round of votes in the NE should count even more. Well see if Clinton can step up her game of if Sanders' momentum is an illusion or not.
 
And note I am not calling independents. I am calling registered Dems who have voted in past primary elections in NY. And they are about 60% already onboard for Sanders. And though I flatter myself, I think I convince a few of the ones who are not.

It's like a game of community rorschach, with a ground rule that every ink blot represents a conspiracy against Sanders in some form or another.
