Presidential Primaries 2016

Are you suggesting that using ethanol from corn has a significant effect in reducing global warming?

If so, could you point to the basis for this assertion?
No, they both suck. I've never been in favor of the absurd corn subsidies and I fail to see how ethanol or oil are all that much different. But fracking and methanol releases are probably worse than non-corn derived ethanol.

Bottom line, it's stupid to say Cruz is good because of his stand on corn subsidies when the only difference is he's in the pocket of Big Oil instead.

Trump is now demanding a revote in Iowa because Cruz stole the election. The circus train rolls on,but I think Iowa indicated people are getting tired of the act.

.......
Clinton is pro-ethanol because it's big money in Iowa.
Trump is pro-ethanol because he pays no attention to the corporate socialism the corn subsidies are.
Sanders is pro-ethanol for supposed environmental reasons, pretending it isn't really vote pandering despite the fact ethanol is horrible for the environment.

Only Cruz stood up to the ethanol interests in Iowa and publicly stood against the socialist corn subsidies.

Is any politician ever pro- or anti- something simply because it's the right thing to do, and not because of some subset or other of the electorate who might support them or otherwise?

He did say skipping the debate was a mistake, and he could be right: some people may have seen his decision not to even face a Fox news moderator as a weakness.

And acting like a crybaby will not help matters.

No, I think he's decided to double down on 'everyone is unfair to me!'
I get the hopeful feeling that Trump is going to lose a few more primaries, claim they were all rigged, rage-quit, and (here is the hopeful bit) run as a third party because he knows true Americans really want him to win!

While I can totally see him doing that I suspect he wouldn't run third party because that has a smaller chance of winning and I don't think he likes to lose (even if he's so good at it).

[As Trump] I wouldn't lose because I'm leading all the polls. I'm going to win because I'm a genius and the American people really like me. The only possible way I lost those primaries is fraud! [As Trump]

And now that it appears unlikely that Trump will get the nomination, that has become the GOP's #1 nightmare....and one that is much more likely.
He would be Ralph Nader in 2000 on sterioids for the GOP in November.

No so far. Sanders probably does come closer, but he didn't stand his ground on the corn subsidies and that's a significant imperfection for someone whose whole platform is, I don't do that.

I don't know why Santorum even bothered to stay in;obvious early on that Cruz had stolen his core theocrats support.

Santorum always seemed like one of those "my time" politicians, like a guy who felt like he put in his chops so the Presidency was his due (see also Romney, H. Clinton, et. al.). Or maybe that's just me.

I get the same feeling, but with a bit more froth.

Perhaps.
He always struck me as religious enough and dopey enough to actually believe that God told him to run for president.
