It's time for a Ted Cruz thread.

What's hilarious is liberals posting BS from other liberals. Its also interesting libs think he's not smart when super lib himself Alan Dershowitz said that Ted Cruz was among the smartest students he ever taught.

It's really arrogant to say a man who has his credentials is some kind of dummy. It's living in complete and total DENIAL of reality.

Not really, Ben Carson may be a very smart neurosurgeon but as an Egyptologist he's a moron. By the same token Cruz may have brilliant academic credentials and yet be a complete dummy as a presendtial candidate.

When is someone going to ask Cruz if he told his father that his father was wrong to state Obama wasn't qualified for POTUS because he wasn't born in the US?

Here is a summary of some of the other insane religious kooks who Ted Cruz panders to.

Kevin Swanson, who hosted the National Religious Liberties Conference, seems particularly psychotic, and Cruz was one of only three GOP candidates who attended his ridiculous, awful meeting (guess who the other two were...). Just take a look at this raving lunatic:

Ted Cruz's "First Day in Office" wish list is totally sane and rational:

1. Rescind every one of President Obama "illegal executive actions."

2. Order the Department of Justice to open an investigation into Planned Parenthood for possible criminal prosecution.

3. Direct every government agency to end "the persecution of religious liberty."

4. "Rip to shreds" the Iran nuclear deal.

5. Begin the process of moving the American embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

And the other two, Trump and Huckabee, claimed ignorance when it was pointed out to them that Swanson is a loon who wants to execute gays. (He actually said that at the close of that very conference!) Cruz didn't. Because he's cut from the exact same cloth. Smart, Religious, and Crazy is a very bad combination.

They were Huckabee and Santorum

Actually Cruz, Huckabee, and Jindal according to RWW. It's just so easy for me to think ill of Trump! Which was pretty stupid, considering that he's been less opposed to gay rights than most Republicans.

It appears Ben Carson was also going to attend but thought better of it.

Crap, your'e right. I could have sworn I remembered it being [this loony religious zealot] instead of [that loony religious zealot].

And yeesh, when a candidate shows worse judgment than Ben Carson, who is only there to make speaking fees/book tour money, that's pretty terrible.

No worries. I mainly replied as a way to promote my new film career.

Right. I'm assuming that Mr. Carson no longer has any way to ply his former trade.

Whereas you could take on an interesting engineering project if one came along. Also, despite your fascinating pumpkin slinging (which I am a big fan of), you haven't taken up another career. Thus leaving you stuck with the label of your last career, even if it is a nobel one. And since that former label has some relevance to your post career activities, you are really just engineering in a different way.

I have a hard time coming up with an analog for such activity for the retired brain surgeon. But I don't think it would be political author, or whatever Carson is doing now.

Carson is still trying to operate on people's brains! Unfortunately for him, he can't operate his own brain, judging by the daftness that comes out of his mouth. :p

Well this is going to liven up things:

Constitutional law professor: Ted Cruz is not eligible to be president

I disagree of course, based on his mother obviously meeting the various requirements to confer US citizenship on Ted Cruz, even if he was born in Canada.

I actually find the professor's analysis rather persuasive.

Second, the authors appropriately ask the question whether the Constitution includes the common-law definition or the statutory approach. But they fail to examine any U.S. sources for the answer. Instead, Katyal and Clement refer to the brand-new British statutes as part of a “longstanding tradition” and conclude that the framers followed that law because they “would have been intimately familiar with these statutes.” But when one reviews all the relevant American writings of the early period, including congressional debates, well-respected treatises and Supreme Court precedent, it becomes clear that the common-law definition was accepted in the United States, not the newfangled British statutory approach.

Not a slam dunk as I previously thought.

Digital slutshaming? :eye-poppi

CNN just played a clip of Cruz saying Trump represents "New York Values". That might actually be effective in Iowa, at least among the sort of Iowans who lean Republican.

And more about the company Cruz keeps:

Loons of a feather flock together.

. . . will speak at a church headed by a self-proclaimed prophet who prayed for a military coup to remove Obama

Thank God prayer does not work.
