Hillary Clinton is Done

That's what I'm hoping for. Staying home is almost as good as voting for Clinton.

Imagine we have 100 voters, 50 are for Clinton and 50 are for the Republican. If Clinton converts just one of those people, she wins with 51% of the vote.

Now imagine instead that she (or the Republican nominee) convinces that person to stay home. She wins 50-49 or 50/99 = 50.5% of the vote. Very close to the same thing.

Many will stay home rather than vote for Clinton from the Independent/Democratic side too. A race to the bottom.

Clinton is still the clear favorite to win among the bookies:
Clinton 1/12
Sanders 6/1
O'Malley 100/1

Also for the Presidency:

Clinton 4/5
Rubio 7/2
Trump 7/1
Sanders 12/1

A week later, and the odds haven't changed for the Democratic nomination, but for the Presidency Clinton has risen slightly to 8/11, Trump went to 6/1, and Sanders dropped to 18/1.

So Sanders is losing votes to Trump? We are completely through the looking glass.

I'm pretty sure if we tried we could equate most of the candidates with characters from Through the Looking Glass, in fact.

Sanders = The White Knight?
Trump = The Red Queen ("Off with her head!")?

Other options include a hookah-smoking caterpillar, Humpty-Dumpty, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, the Walrus and the Dodo, The White Queen, The Mad Hatter, March Hare and Dormouse, and, if I recall correctly, Bill the Lizard.

We've been staring at the wrong side of it for quite some time. But since odds are not fantasy football, I presume that the presidential odds are compounded with the nomination. So even if Sanders could beat Trump in an election, the likelihood that he will be running at all is taken into account.

Choosing between voting for Trump and letting the Democratic candidate win without your help is a reasonable decision for a Republican.

During my life I have voted for five Republican presidential candidates, and seven Democratic presidential candidates, and one Independent presidential candidate. Next year, I will either vote for a Democratic presidential candidate or another Independent candidate. That choice is up to the decisions of the democratic primary voters in the first half of the next year.

Claiming the difference between Trump and Clinton is so small it wouldn't matter which one won should they both win their primaries is mind-bogglingly ignorant. But fortunately I don't believe most Sanders' supporters are that foolish.

I never said the differences were small in the people, or their proposed policies. But what I will say is that they are both focused on the wrong things and will make the nation weaker and take it in the wrong direction (from my perspective and understandings), one maybe a little faster than the other. Unfortunately, I don't think we can afford the extravagance of that luxury, even if it "only lasts for four years or so," so no, I will not support any "business as (has become) usual" establishment corporatist candidate (even if they only have a few flaws and warts).

Hillary: the march to the right…

Again, this isn’t my isolated and unsupported impression, but rather, a trend that many of the nation’s progressive media outlets have been reporting upon:

http://www.commondreams.org/news/2015/11/19/clinton-sheds-progressive-facade-bold-rightward-lurch

From her call for a major air and ground war against ISIS to her attack on single-payer, observers note that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is rapidly shedding her “progressive” façade as she grows increasingly confident she has the Democratic nomination locked down…
Growing more hawkish by the day…

As Bob and Barbara Dreyfuss pointed out last year, Clinton used her secretary of state role to consistently advocate escalation of military force, from Afghanistan to Libya to Syria, making her the pro-war wing of the Obama administration.

Clinton has only moved further in the militarist direction after exiting the administration, expressing skepticism of the nuclear deal between world powers and Iran, escalating her rhetoric towards Russia, and proclaiming an “unbreakable bond” with the widely-reviled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu…

Making that lessor evil argument much weaker, by making the lessor much smaller

There have always been rumors -- some out of malice, but some from genuine concern -- about Hillary's health. Has she released any recent medical records, doctor's endorsements, etc?

From 2013:
http://www.examiner.com/article/did-hillary-clinton-suffer-a-stroke-if-so-what-about-2016

Well, her primary physician says she has no health issues that will prevent her from running, and I guess we have to accept that, but a stroke is quite a difficult thing to be 100% after.

I think the question is not whether she is fit to run in a campaign where her handlers control everything she does to protect her, but whether she's fit to serve as President for four, maybe eight years.

S.O.P. of smearing the candidate.

If Hillary doesn't respond by releasing all of her medical records then she must be hiding something.

If she responds by releasing all of her medical records then she demonstrates that she's easy to push around.

Whatever is in the medical records can also be subject to uninformed speculation by her opponents. I have a heart arrhythmia which has been extensively investigated and I've been given a clean bill of health but it wouldn't stop political opponents saying "The Don in heart problem shocker - what else is he hiding ?"

I don't think any politician should ever release medical records, ever. it sets a bad precedent.

Why? We -- the American people -- are hiring the President for one of the most demanding and consequential jobs in the world. Why shouldn't we know about his health? Anybody hired for a high-level corporate post, anybody joining the military or police department or fire department, many other people in a variety of circumstances are required to take physicals and satisfy their employers of their good health. But the President should get a pass? There is no real doubt that FDR was on his deathbed when he was elected to his fourth term, JFK was severely ill most of his life, Richard Nixon drank so heavily that he may have qualified as an alcoholic (he certainly sounded like a mean drunk on some of his recorded rants), and Ronald Reagan was showing signs of Alzheimer's by the beginning of his second term. You think maybe the American people should have known about these things?

I think it would make sense for a nonpartisan medical committee to assess any candidate's health and interpret their findings for the public. If that means somebody doesn't get elected, well, tough.

This is just odd, it would show honest transparency. It would put away rumors that the fall she had didn't have lasting effects. Of course whatever she got from Bill would show up, but most people know liberals have these things.

Of course, the only people who believe that the fall did anything to her are Republican retards who wouldn't vote for her anyway.

When is Donald Trump going to to release his medical records?

Actually there are rumors that the fall was more serious than let on, she also seems to be quite tired while campaigning. Being tired might be why she ignored the 3am call.

Not sure but he absolutely should.
