Dylann Roof: The Second Amendment Strikes Again

I see .. a "warning shot" of any kind is not allowed ... the brandishing law I've heard before and it's wrong ... a percentage of defensive use of firearms is said to be simple brandishing and normally not reported to police

Brandishing breaks the "Don't pull it unless you intend to use it" rule.

Swing and a miss.

Yep, just keep whistling in the dark.

Uh, no. Laws protect our 1st Amendment. If the 2nd Amendment was designed to protect us from our own government, where are the cries from people WRT Rocket Launchers and M1 Abrams battle tanks? Shouldn't we be up on a box in the square demanding equal arms for all?

Really, what laws.

Your view of why the 2nd Amendment was enacted is laughably inaccurate.

And, I submit your view of the world is unfortunately, seen through rose colored glasses.

BTW, the M1 Abrams was replaced by the M2 in ~2002.

However, I would prefer the M1 over the M2 as the latter suffered much more weather/conditions related operational issues in Iraq than the "old" M1's which is what my son used when deployed there 2003-2004.

I understand Disney doesn't allow CCW, tens of millions of visitors per year and not one mass killing. In fact, it's one of the safest places on Earth. Do you have a point?

I had a question...any mass shootings in Utah schools?

There does seem to be some strange misalignment between the politicians and the public over this issue. It would seem that the USA public would support some reasonable further legislation in regards to gun ownership and conditions for buying and using a gun.

While the public supports it in the abstract whenever anyone tries to get specific the gun lobby starts the "They're coming for your guns" bandwagon.

Can you please tell me why there's no concerted effort to allow everyday citizens operable tanks of any kind? Why can't we have missiles? .50 caliber guns mounted on the back of pickup trucks?

Or heroin.
If we are going with out of the box thinking, let's get way out of the box.

As far as I know, the aforementioned shootings were conducted with guns/bullets not dope/needles. Apparently, you have other information?

Good question, however, every mass shooting has occurred in schools that do not allow CCW.

Coincidence. Lets say every school in the country is armed. You are saying that the chances of school shootings in this country will then drop to zero.

That's absurd, no?

Today, if you pass the normal background check, can purchase a Barrett .50 caliber and then mount it in the bed of your pickup. I would think it a bit odd of you, but go for it.

I'm talking about the machine gun.

Is it your intention to forever pick nits and purposely misrepresent my point?

Use logic, man ! If guns make you safer, then logically MORE guns make you MORE safer !

Obviously each American should be mandated to have a gun and we will have perfect domestic tranquility.

But your point was about a lack of concealed weapons. To have any merit, you first need to show that having concealed weapons around make a meaningful difference. Otherwise, one could assert that the lack of any old thing - heroin included - alters the situation and leads to another outcome.

If you'd like a less out-of-the-box example, I could promote separating by sex for education, using the fact that all school shootings happened in mixed-gender schools. Of course, that assertion fails for the same reason yours does.

What's absurd is you thinking it is a coincidence these monsters did not choose to go into a facility where civilians could be legally CCW.

Where did I say school shootings would drop to zero? The fact appears, (Utah) there have been no school shootings there as well as Kansas, once they allowed CCW in their schools. I find it absurd you're trying to put words into people's mouths when their facts/logic do not mesh with your paradigm of how the world should be.

BTW: Your insistence on me answering directly a question I in effect answered isn't helping your case. When you ignore an answer that you know is the answer then you are not arguing in good faith.
