How about someone that can do something about it? Nobody. How about answering the other question - how many have been banned under Obama's watch? None.
The fact is that there won't be any great movement to ban guns. Period. If Sandy Hook didn't do it, nothing will. All the idiots who think "librulzzz are out to git yer gunzz" are just that.

Could you clarify what you mean by this? If you mean by Obama's administration, none as far as I know. If you mean in the country while Obama has been in office? A cubic **** ton. If you have a handle the wrong angle or a hand gun that's too heavy (along with a ton of other things), then your gun was banned in New York by the SAFE act.

As an Obama support and a liberal, I wish people would stop pretending there aren't a non-trivial number on the left who want gun bans, and more who want extraordinarily restrictions. They have also got the later in some cases. There isn't going to be a meaningful dialogue to find the middle ground when the sides won't even admit there are extremes; it destroys trust.

Of course those acting like all the liberals are out to ban all guns and all the conservatives are against any and all regulations are wrong as well, and also stifle meaningful dialog.

If you were going to be consistent with your logic, then you would call for the banning of cars, because cars kill and injure more people each year than guns do. And, yes, there are hundreds of cases each year of people using cars as weapons against other people--trying to run them over (sometimes succeeding), knocking them off bikes, driving away while the other person is next to the car so they get hit with a door or other part of the car, etc.

Similarly, there are thousands of stabbings each year. Why no call for knife ban or knife control? If the anti-gun crowd would be consistent in their logic, they would also be calling for bans on cars and guns.

That is not logic. The main usage of kitchen knife is cutting food and there are billion (trillion) of cutting food vs a few thousand stabbing. In otehr word : misuse of the primary usage is in 0.00001%.

Same for car : billion of miles gone for and misuse is very vey low.

On the other hand guns primary usage is to target and fire a slug meant primary to kill or wound a person. And before you tout me the old tired "ZOMG but sport gun!!!" well then forbid gun sale for self defense, and only allow sport gun. If not then drop that stupid argument.


It is really tiring that people keep comparing something for which the number of accident or misuse is in the low decimal point single thousands of percent, like pools, to something for which the design and engineering usage is killing.

You can own a car without a drivers license or insurance. . . . Just cannot drive it on public roads. You can drive it on private property however.
