IIRC The specks of blood found on Raf's car door handle and back seat cover were also deemed non-human. Perhaps the cat nipped out for a little TDA.

Your memory is faulty. None of these samples tested positive for blood period with TMB or human blood with the anticopo, they were listed as presumed biological traces that did not pan out (see page 122 Test Results RTIGF report)

A good clue the burglary is staged, is finding a body behind lock and key and nothing taken, except personal effects of the victim.
The burglary was interrupted when Meredith came home, and after he killed her Rudy took her money to spend, and her phones to delay discovery. Laptops were useless in his new situation.

I would think the best way to stage a burglary to look like a real burglary would be to burgle something obvious.

A real burglar might have something specific in mind that is not in plain sight like jewelry, guns, drugs, or cash.

Tesla you produce nothing and misread most everything.

What I said it said was that most stagings were associated with murders pointing out that insurance fraud wasn't number one - I had been wrong (back off Anglo, if I see that in your signature line there will be hell to pay).

I've admitted that I don't have access to crime stats you want but I offer the fact that an online course in investigations makes number 8 (that's the same as VIII, Tesla) staged burglaries that they aren't rare and a part of a basic course.

When I put "staged burglaries are rare" in da Google...not one hit.

Where are you Vixen?

I'm here! Agree with you, Grinder.

I agree. Once you accept Amanda and Raf never left their apartment that night, there's no point in speculating about their "staging a crime scene". Its just silly. It never made any sense, and the prosecution refused to allow evidence testing that would refute their theory.

That is not Raf's position.

It's not? How can you manage such a glib, superficial post?

Have you read Raffaele's book? Have you read any of Raffaele's appeals' to the various courts since 2011?

Er, to explain why nothing was stolen.

Except that, if he were involved, he knew some things had been stolen. Don't you think it would have occurred to them to steal something besides Meredith's stuff if ransacking Filomena's room? Or is that just another of their glaring blunders IYO?

Of course, the guilters miss the point about the burglary and that is that the burglary was interrupted. A burglar doesn't want to be connected to items that could link to a murder.

She would need to provide an entrance scenario for the killer.

Once again we move away from the issue of the police reasonably considering staging at the beginning. Staging is not infrequent to point of not considering it and there were factors mentioned numerous times that made it reasonable for them. Whether one of the PP said it didn't look like a burglary because valuable were still there doesn't mean Raf saying "nothing was stolen" isn't a tell for them.

Please Vixen come back

Let me suggest. Amanda said she found the door open, because that's how burglars leave it? Perhaps it really was swinging open.

I tend to think Amanda was saying, "It could have been anybody in there."

This is because there is a reason for moving away from it.

The problem I'm having and perhaps Kauffer is that the total summary just doesn't represent an hour or more of questioning. Even with translating I don't see this as more than 10 or 15 minutes.

The weasel word here is relevant. Was it relevant when they asked her about her work and the people there? Was it relevant when they asked about her evening?

What were the things she told them that they "knew" not to be correct?

I am having a problem with them for length. I'm also eagerly waiting for the 4th November "verbale", both because it will give us all the interview material and because we already have some very interesting knowledge of what took place in that one to compare with the official record. There was a total of more than 53 hours of questioning up to the arrest. But, do we know for sure that the 2nd, 3rd and 4th interviews were or were not recorded? If they were, did the tapes get passed to the defence?

Please present a citation for your claims that specks of blood were found on Raffaele's car door handle and back seat cover. Please include the citation of this in the scientific police records.

Er, to explain why nothing was stolen.

What would you do if you'd just slaughtered and sexually assaulted someone after breaking in with only the intent to steal? Would you go and pick yourself up a camera and laptop that would be the hottest camera and laptop in the history of Perugian burglary if not Italian burglary itself, in order to try and sell them on probably for less than 100 euros and in so doing definitively incriminate yourself as the murderer or would you take the ready cash and the phones so they wouldn't ring in the room and make good your escape without an armful of cumbersome baggage?

If it were me, I'd do what Guede did. He actually made the right decision given the circumstances. He was thinking clearly.

I hope Vixen is reading this ...

IIRC Raf or Luca reported it was locked from the inside? Who knows, perhaps he mistook Amanda's room for Mez'.

Did they share a balcony? It could have been locked from the inside with the perp climbing out on to the balcony to the adjacent room.

The puzzle would be, what happened to the bloodsoaked footprints?

Of course you don't remember correctly. (WHAT A SURPRISE!!) No blood was found on or in Raf's car or his apartment or on any of his or Amanda's belongings. So you won't bring up other unfounded evidence about blood.

Grinder

You asked a page back what was in her statement that they knew to be untrue. Well one big thing is her whereabouts when she texted Patrick (or when he texted her, not sure which). They had her in the vicinity of her place on one of those texts.

Btw. she mentioned Le Chic on the 3rd, but not Patrick (unless they couldn't be bothered to jot that down).

Amanda stated she worked at Le Chic in the VSIs of Nov. 2 and of Nov. 3. If Patrick Lumumba is not mentioned, perhaps either she wasn't asked who was her boss, or it wasn't incorporated into the documents. The police could easily find out who the proprietor of Le Chic was. If one thinks more broadly, should the police have asked who Amanda's teachers were at the University for Foreigners in Perugia? They could have had as much connection with the case as Lumumba was imagined to have, on Nov. 5 at least, by the police.

I would have not taken the phones or credit cards. I would have quickly checked the other girl's rooms for cash.

I know it's not popular here, but the scene in Filomena's was odd. He went in there and threw around some clothes but wasn't organizing stuff in a pile or in the ubiquitous pillow case to haul it away. He just tossed stuff around and then went to the bathroom. Now of course it makes sense that he wouldn't want to haul off anything of size after the murder.

Yes, IIRC, the DNA results from Stef's lab came back on Nov 6.

also as an aside, since the new ISC ruling will be the final word on the matter, I'm wondering if DR Mignini will have the full latitude to speak at his defamation trials against Amanda, Raf and Oggi, and whatever else?

Could cassation say something like, 'Mignini's conclusions were irrational from the evidence available', which would deprive Mignini of defenses he might need at a future trial of his own?

If there is going to be an investigation of the Kercher investigation, and what everyone did, could Mignini expose himself to questioning on the stand in this current spate of cases, that could come back and haunt him if he were the subject of a later criminal case?

I believe defendants are allowed and expected to lie in criminal cases. But surely not prosecutors or witnesses.

I believe Mignini is scheduled to take the stand on June 16 in his Oggi trial. Not sure if he'll take the stand against Raf/Gumbel in Honor Bound, but that is my fantasy.

But don't you see, it gives Raf, Amanda and OGGI the opportunity to defend their claims, on the grounds of "fair comment"?
