Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker compared the nation’s fight against ISIS with the thousands of protesters that came to Madison, Wisconsin, in 2011, telling attendees at the Conservative Political Action Conference today that he is equipped to take on the terrorist group because of his experience during those protests.

Walker said as governor he gets a “threat assessment” from the FBI and he has been “concerned about the threat” posed by ISIS and other terrorist groups, saying he wants a commander-in-chief who will “do everything in their power to ensure the threat from radical Islamic terrorists does not wash up on American soil," adding the country needs a “leader" with "confidence.”

“If I can take on 100,000 protesters, I can do the same across the world,” said Walker, wearing his sleeves rolled up, referring to his high-profile face-off with public-employee unions.

Of course, he's already "clarified" his statement. He wasn't really comparing American citizens who disagree with his policies to terrorists.

I don't see why they would object to such a comparison. There's gotta be a pretty big overlap between people who disagree with his policies and people who think terrorists are well-meaning activists with a legitimate grievance who deserve to be heard.

I see this is actually from last year but I don't think any disparity of treatment between poor minorities and white wealthy people applies here because I thought the thread was discussing successful politicians.

I do not see any disparity between how white politicians and minority politicians are treated by the legal system.

His policies are wonderful, but his opponents are really good at lying, such as this investigation, whose purpose wasn't to convict him of anything, but scare off donors to his campaign.
