Merged Bigfoot follies

If I recall correctly from John Green's Book Sasquatch, I believe Roe made the affidavit at the request of Green, who after hearing his story wanted an interview but couldn't arrange for one, asked for for a sworn affidavit to be mailed. He also received the illustration by Roe's daughter with the affidavit. Green asked for sworn statements from several "witnesses" as a means of trying to dissuade or ferret out liars/hoaxers.

OK-
Bart Cutino's Thermal Sighting
http://www.sierrasiteproject.com/2013/04/sierras-evidence-thermal-footage-and.html

Hilarity ensues, including this gem:
Although the footage is not “damning” by any means, due to it being thermal from 103-105 yards, we believe the compelling circumstances with six witnesses (with four of us awake) total, including myself, Justin Smeja, Sanh Oriyavong, Ro Sahebi, Michael Lorentz, and Todd Hale, “real-time” audio recorded during filming, group behavior documented (“rock throwing”), footage length etc… coupled with the subsequent investigation, makes this encounter unparalleled in many aspects.

4 of the six witnesses were awake anyway.

"You use the word "we" a lot. The "we" I associate with are quite comfortable with the amount of evidence and data "we" have found. Anyone like myself, who has seen a BF, is, in my opinion, worlds ahead of some of those names you dropped there. Not only have I seen one, I've recorded them, seen their footprints in various soils, and obtained handprints.

I'm not worried about 2015 at all. :-)"

Wow, that's rich!

ETA: Just read the whole thread. No wonder I don't drop in on BFF much anymore. DWA is, well, words escape me.....

Yeah, he's still going with if you're not looking for a 9-ft monkey, you're not finding a 9-ft monkey. I love the idea that he thinks he's some sort of a teacher. What is he, 12?

Reading a bigfoot forum is like watching a play where the main character never appears. Everyone talks about how big he is, his likes and dislikes and where he likes to live but we never see him, a "Waiting for Bigfoot".

I have not kept up over the years as to the goings-on at Bigfoot Forums. Did they ever figure out if Bigfoot keeps pets?

I agree. LAL seemed to be the real deal. She remains my favorite footer.

Mine too but some us have an odd way of showing that kind of appreciation, don't you think?

I thought it was awful when they banned that poor old lady from the BFF when all she did was work extremely hard to make what amounted to a bucket of hogwash into some kind of worthwhile endeavor.

Yet they keep members that truly have issues there forever that only have stories to tell with absolutely no evidence for support. Take HRP's video of the two sasquatch grooming each other, now really, I call elephant size BS on that story.

LAL was banned from BFF?

What was her infraction? When she posted at the then JREF I found her "read Krantz" or "read Meldrum" to be kinda cute. And she never did anything unseemly so I can't imagine how she got banned.

I think she got banned for C&P portions of the library she had started on the BFF onto another private forum. One of the older members on the BFF, who has since passed away, compiled a bunch of old historical bigfoot articles and put them on CD for posterity.

She got verbal permission from the guy, but nothing in writing, to use them on the private forum. She was accused of copying these articles from the BFF library when they actually came from a CD that was given to her, if I remember correctly.

It was nothing horrendous IMO, that was the main gist of the complaint. I think several others posted comments from the BFF onto the private forum but I don't think LAL ever did, anyway, it was in the second wave of banning on the BFF after the HRP/Art hoopla.

To be honest, I think all of the bannings were my fault because they hit everyone that participated in a thread on the private forum where I suggested someone C&P the political conversations in the Tar Pit and send them to Homeland Security as a concerned citizen ( it was a joke). I'm not out to ruin people's lives over bigfoot but I'm sure I'm not the only one that ever had that idea. If I were Hunster, or a few of those others, I wouldn't treat the Tar Pit as a private venue to vent my political aspirations/concerns, right or wrong, you can't just say anything these days.

As far as bigfoot goes, there are several on the BFF that ought not be there because they never ever have anything but stories, however, without the stories there wouldn't be a BFF. I guess it behooves the BFF to keep the more extreme membership on board.

So, I thought I'd put the classic Bigfoot encounter story of William Roe here for critical examination. He claimed that his encounter happened in 1955 when working on a highway in British Columbia, about eighty miles west of Jasper, Alberta, Canada. Then in 1957, he wrote a detailed account of his encounter and signed it as an affidavit.

IMO, there are plenty of red flags that this is a fabricated sighting report (a hoax), and is not a misidentification of any kind. What are your thoughts?

From Bigfoot Encounters website...

Blah blah blah, I can't even find interest enough to read it. But in terms of forensics my first obvious question is what does this thing claim itself to be?

It is a typed document, not a photocopy of some legal Canadian government document it parades around as. We know good and well what kind of late-50's official Canadian documents might possibly be genuine. A police report. A report to a wildlife official.

What is a report signed by an alleged "Assistant Claims Agent"? lol. As if there were Canadian agents who certified people's claims about bigfoot in official Canadian government files?

Pterodactyl - Green's history proves him out as a central figure in the hoaxing for personal gain in the newspaper and book publishing businesses. He started long before Patterson. The affadavits are not to weed out liars but rather to give false credentialing to ludicrous tall tales. It is interesting to note where it came from, thanks and I am not surprised.

There are other examples of outright lies about alleged official Canadian documents that Green peddled.

A liar does this kind thing though, not a truth-teller. The more adamant they are about telling the truth, the more you better suspect a big lie. When a story starts off with all the credentialing, the agonizing detail - I can't even finish reading it. A bunch of B.S.
