zen

One day, Zen Master Tao-hsin was walking and met a strong young man. The Master
thought to himself, “This man is very strong; he could become a great container of the
Dharma.” When the man came close, the Master asked him, “What is your name?”
“My name? That name is not so good; underneath, I have a nature-name.”
“”What is your nature-name?”
“I am forced to make the name ‘Buddha-nature’.”
“If that is your last name, what is your first name?”
“My first name is Empty.”
“Then are you empty now?”
“I don’t need to answer. You already understand.”
The Master laughed heartily.
The young man later became the fifth patriarch, Hung-jen.

Nowornever, the Buddha who does not answer questions. What did you learn from this? Please do not answer with another daft story.

3 old ladies sat on the seafront..
Mable "isn't it windy?"
Mildred "thursday"
Ethel "me too lets have a cup of tea"
Mable now knits her nephews embaressing cardigans for birthdays.

I cannot live from moment to moment, right here right now. All the time occupied by the outside or the inner. Also I escape from meditation as it is boring and unpleasant. I have a problem.

Easily solved.... go out and get a job and a girlfriend or boyfriend as you like and stop this foolish Zen stuff.

Live life instead of meditating. The best meditation is a good jog or walk in a park or a nice hike and or playing a game of squash or tennis or any sport. Or go for a swim in the ocean just don't hum while you are doing that.... sharks like Zen students.

Have you heard the good news about our lord and saviour Jesus Christ?:boxedin:

To me, it sounds like you are using religion to fix problems rather than trying to figure out what is causing the problem and fixing that instead. Meditation is supposed to help you unlink from issues long enough to gain some perspective, not to be a solution to, well, anything.

Why did you sign up for these courses in the first place? Lack of direction in your life? An unpleasant situation? Anyone who claims that any religion is a universal cure-all is simply a quack in priest's clothes.

With a steeeeeck!

These aren't koans. They're attempts to imitate the form of a koan by someone who does not understand the thinking behind a koan. Like a fake mechanic tapping an engine block with a wrench and moving wires around randomly.
Kargo Kult Koans :D

One day long ago, Seung Sahn Soen Sa gave a speech to all his students.
“An egg is placed into a small-necked bottle, and kept warm. After twenty days, the egg
hatches and a small chick come out. Food is passed through the neck of the flask, and the
chick grows each day, bigger and bigger, until it is full-grown. At this point, the neck of the
jar is much too small for the chicken to get out.”
“How can you get him out without either breaking the jar or killing the chicken?”

Ask the chicken to cross the road.

don't plan!

problem after problem, solving one and another is waiting on the corner...
My plan is to have no problems whatsoever.
Once I entered a personal interview with Myong Oh Sunim JDPS and started "I planned..." and she spopped my speech and exclaimed: "Don't plan!".
It helped me a lot. Thank you Sensei.

That is bad advice. How much did it cost you? If you think that you can live a problem free life, then think again. I still think that you are winding us up.
