You Just Keep Sinning

This phrase gets thrown around a lot by the christians on this board.

While I understand most of the Chosen on this board can't really decide on which version of the christian god is the right one, I am curious to know what the differences are in regards to sin.

This is a three part question:

What exactly is sinning?

Is one sin worse than another?

Why do you feel atheists reject gods because they "want to keep sinning"?

Sin is if you believe in crap like Religion.

An atheist would see religion's "sin" as falling into two categories:

1. Those that harm other people.
2. Those that harm nobody except an offended god.

No, but you see, that's precisely the point: That it's subjective. That there are no specifics. That is the point at hand. Because the concept of sin will vary according to the Religion. So that there is no such thing as a sin. A sin is just another meme from the list of memes that constitute an ideology. If you want to understand what Sin is, that is the closest, most accurate definition: Something that takes you away from the Religion's God.

Sometime a person is so deluded, they don't consider their "lies" to be "lies" at all. It is hard to tell when a person believes something so deeply and is so deluded whether they are lying or actual believe the nonsense they are spewing.

A sin is any action or thought that disobeys or questions God. You are supposed to follow him blindly and without question. or so I've been told all my life. One of my problems is that I like to think about things because I like learning. So therefore I am a sinner because i am not supposed to question anything just be a blind unfeeling robot. Xtians generally agree to abide by certain (arbitrary?) rules, violation of said rules are sins.

That's a very efficient definition of "religious".

Point was though, the people who engage in "lying for Jesus" in question are very definately and knowingly doing it on purpose. Take any given prominent creationist, say, like Ray Comfort. They'll say something that is demonstratively false, have that falseness in fact demonstrated to them. They'll agree that it must be false then, make appologies, and then repeat the same false information again and again because it plays well with their target. These people, these "liars for Jesus" aren't trying to convince anyone of anything -- they're trying to prevent their own people from being convinced.

As far as they're concerned, the ends justify the means. But is that a sin?

Anyway, the phrase "you enjoy sinning" invokes images (in my mind) of someone smoking, with a heroin needle in their arm, porn playing on the TV, homosexual magazines strewn over the floor while knifing kittens in a darkened room surrounded by pentagrams and the goats of previous slaughters while Slayer belts out South of Heaven.

That's my perception of sin.
