Yellow Bamboo Challenge

ooops if that is how what I said came out, I must have misworded. I should have said "I just hope no one tries to heal a snakebite victim with their 'energy' instead of performing first aid and/or seeking medical attention"

Obviously since this works when they're training against each other, maybe the correct conclusion is that training in Yellow Bamboo enables you to be knocked down when running at an opponent. You know, defying inertia, or somesuch.

Clearly CFLarsen's test is backwards. The YB practioner should run wildly full speed at the martial artist and see how often they get knocked on their a$$ while failing to hit the MA. They win the million dollars if it is more often than chance!

I used to have a quote on my sig that read:

"Try drinking some pepsi" in response to someone who was asking how they could increase the power of their psi ball.

I miss being a kid. Fantasy world is fun to play in.

and the winner is...

wow what a fight larsen, great tactics:

1.Hiding
2.Nitpicking about minor details for weeks
3.Trying to send someone other (a trained fighter)
4.claiming something without evidence:

I've spoken with Alvin Donovan from Yellow Bamboo, and after the failed test in Sweden, he now concedes that YB cannot be used for "protection".

5.Talking about running to the police if the challenger takes a risk (mimmicing responsibility)and insult him in the same paragraph:

If YB tried to do something like that in Denmark, I'd report them to the police immediately. There are limits to stupidity.

you must be a joke man, are all danish men pussies like you or are you an exception? but i had a good laugh reading this 7 pages, you are a great example of a hypocrite.

I'm not hiding. I am right here. YB, on the other hand, are the ones running away.

Not nitpicking at all. It isn't easy to design a fair test that will eliminate cheating.

feyd rautha said:
3.Trying to send someone other (a trained fighter)

YB said nothing about the qualifications of the "attacker". YB also agreed to using one such. It would also be very inappropriate for me to both design and participate in the test. How could I defend myself against accusations that I had rigged my own test?

4.claiming something without evidence:

It's from an email. You can ask Donovan if I am wrong.

We are not talking about mimicking anything, we are talking about real danger.

Thank you for your input.

I signed up for YB mailing list some time ago. Just today I got an email from them with a spectacular offer: a "Training Package", and a list of benefits:

* More success in all areas of your life, personal, financial, relationships etc
* Ability to influence others to get them to do what you want
* The ability to get others to fall in love with you
* Build the fire within and expand your aura
* Achievement of the super conscious state
* The semadhi experience or union with God
* Further increase your internal power
* Development of telepathic abilities
* The ability to see into the future
* Ability to see at a distance
* Unite your soul with nature

WOW! (the third one is interesting, I'll buy it :D)

At least they don't mention the ability to repel an attacker without actually touching him.

One down... :)

I see other testable claims, though:

* Build the fire within and expand your aura

This is testable: We can test who has had his aura expanded or not.

* Development of telepathic abilities

This is testable.

* The ability to see into the future

This is testable.

* Ability to see at a distance

This is testable.

I'll contact Donovan and see what he says.

Uh it is? Sorry for my ignorance... is there a thread that speaks of how?

Not to my knowledge.

Of course, we'll have to test to see if they can detect auras in the first place. And that's simple: Put a person - or not - behind a screen. Can the YB person see an aura or not?

Ha! I also signed up to the mailing list, primarily to see this video http://yellowbamboohk.com/yellowbamboo/YB_Test_SwedishGroup_Surabrata.mov because it is so funny (however I cannot find it on the site).

However, today I got this e-mail:

Vegeta <== (fake name I used for comedic purposes)

Yellow Bamboo is for real.

If you haven't yet viewed the level one video, you can
see it online at

http://bamboovideo.com/fulfill.htm <== (link to a website which streams a video which explicitly shows the 'knocking down'.)

Or get the DVD at

http://bamboovideo.com/ar5

Please tell you firends. Let them know about the
power, strength and protectio9n <== (ok, they didn't use 'protectio9n from attackers' or 'physical protectio9n' so I guess that is OK ;) ) you will get from
Yellow Bamboo.

PS. Right now, you're beginning have come to mind the name of
one or more friends or family members who could sue the power
of Yellow Bamboo.

Give them the start they need at

Is that typo ("sue" for "use") in the original email? Either way, it cracks me up.

I'm keeping an eye on it.

If it doesn't change in the foreseeable future, I will contact Donovan again.

E-mail I got from YB TODAY:

Vegeta

Yellow Bamboo has received much attention of late
as praticioners demostrate the protection power.

While this makes for good publicity, the truth is that
Yellow Bamboo is taught for much more than show.

The three main benefits of Yellow Bamboo are:

Rapid spiritual self-realization and personal
development. You can attain more development in one month
than ten years of yoga and meditation. The Yellow Bamboo
program is a cohesive, step-by-step method of attaining
spiritual and personal development.

Protection for yourself and others. With Yellow Bamboo
you can learn very powerful methods to protect yourself
and others. If you watch the videos you will see that it
is possible to knock down attackers without touching
them. This is a very powerful form of personal
development.

Healing for yourself and others. With Yellow Bamboo you
can heal yourself and others. We teach a very powerful
method of tapping into a special healing energy. It is
possible to heal infirmities and disease quickly and
painlessly.

Are you receiving these benefits?

You can.. but continuing to practice Level 1 of Yellow Bamboo
as found at http://bamboovideo.com/ar9b

Have a question?

Submit your Yellow Bamboo quesitons to

http://bamboovideo.com/ask.htm

Thank you for your continued interest in Yellow Bamboo.

PS. Don't forget to include your friends and family in
Yellow Bamboo. They will want the rapid growth too.

I take no responsability for the spelling in that e-mail :D.

CF,
If you sign up for their mailing list, within 7 days you will be swimming in direct evidence that they are still marketing this stuff as protection. Just don't be like me and use your main e-mail. I think that was a dumb idea in retrospect, as I do not trust them to not give my address to spammers.

Thanks for the warning. I got a pretty good spam-filter. :)
