Windows 10 - why

Fixed that for ya, Adobe was mostly just the company with Postscript for those esoteric and outrageously expensive laser printers.

That was my first Windows experience as well, IIRC the version number was 2.10 but was available in a 286 edition, and for those with cash to spend on the processor, a 386 edition, circa 1988.

Nobody has migrated yet because Windows 10 isn't out until the end of July. All the icon does is reserve a copy, which will then be automatically downloaded when it becomes available. You don't have to install it straight away if you don't want to.

heh. Mine was an 486 25mhz SX with a whopping 4 MB RAM and 80(!) MB HD.
All that space!!!! I later upgraded it myself with a Soundblaster clone for sound and a CD-Rom 1x drive. I was sooooo in front of things!!! And a Matrix Printer as well!
 
Every time I upgrade my main PC I save the old bits and always have enough laying around to have a second machine built and running (mainly as a media server, but also for testing). As of today that spare machine is still pretty darn good, spec wise (i3 3.2 or some such, 8GB memory, etc). That machine gets to run point for me on the Win10 upgrade, and since it was as recently as two months ago my main machine I still have all my games and programs available on it to make sure everything I'm using now will work properly under 10, before committing my current main machine to the upgrade.

I think tonight I'll change the machine name from "MediaBox" to "RedShirt" :-)
