Chloe Marshall has caused a storm by becoming the first size 16 beauty queen to reach the finals of the Miss England contest.

Feted and fawned over for her courage in daring to break the mould, Chloe boasts she wants to be an "ambassador for curves".

Who on earth does she think she's kidding? What she's demonstrating isn't bravery but a shocking lack of self-control.

Instead of flaunting her figure, Chloe ought to own up to the truth. She is fat and she got that way by over-eating.

She isn't 'curvy' she is just plain fat, you can see her fat folds. Who is she trying to kid?

Always good to see the Daily Mail behaving exactly as I'd expect them to.

It's a "meat" show so why not more "meat"? Good luck to her, but beauty contests are hoaching with bad attitudes and bad examples.

A BMI of 26 is only slightly overweight. It is very doubtful that she would be at risk of any health problems from this. The article is nonsense.

It's possible for some people to reach that size without overeating, but it's silly to pretend that that body is worthy of winning a beauty contest. Must be some form of political correctness going on.

"I don't find her attractive therefore it must be political correctness." Insert laughing dog here.

I firmly believe that "thin is beautiful" is the political correctness, or more accurately, hypocrisy. Throughout history fat women were considered attractive because it was so difficult to get that way. Nowadays it takes work to NOT be fat, but it does not mean men's preferences changed. To see that "thin is beautiful" is mostly a myth, all you have to do is look at women in porno magazines, who were selected for no other criteria than their attractiveness to men. Invariably they are a lot better fed than the scarecrows on runway. Also look at the number of porno magazines with names like "Plumpers" and "Big <insert body part here>". Granted they are a minority market, but it is a sizeable minority and much larger than the market for magazines with names like "Toothpick" (puns intended, but really unavoidable).

Most Western men today CLAIM they like thin women, and may be embarrassed to appear in public with a woman the size of Chloe, but I suspect that's what most of them secretly want.

She's very pretty. Not my taste in women, but I see no need to dredge up a Daily Fail article from three years ago as an excuse to make fat jokes.

Her legs look big compared to her face, but she's certainly attractive. Cute.
